An emergency session of the Council of Four had been called as soon as the first words of the Sylph invasion had begun to trickle into Kalmar proper. The four leaders of the surviving castes gathered in a meeting room in the Pagahara Palace to discuss what needed to be done. It had been over a hundred years since the last full out war the nation had fought, and five hundred years since the last Sylph invasion. But Kalmar had mostly been able to sit that war out, content only to defend their lands. Now, things were different.
The mina force of the Wind Lord was poised to invade their new lands and savage their new people, and that simply could not be allowed. But even with all it's strength, there was no guaranty Kalmar would be able to win this war, especially not when they would need to keep a good portion of their forces on their Southern border to dissuade the Traitor from taking advantage of this situation.
And so, a plan was crafted, spearheaded by the Grand Marshal. If Kalmar could not win this war alone, it would not do so. It had allies now, and the Wind Lord was a threat to all people of the West. And so missives were drafted and sent out to the various rulers of the West. From the Orcs of the north to the warrior monks of the far west, all received these messages.
'Great Lords of the West. We stand at a Crossroads of history. The Wind Lord has moved and struck, beginning a new Sylph War. 500 years ago, our people's stood apart in their defenses, throwing back the Sylphs piecemeal and incompletely. But that must change. We, the Council of Kalmar, call upon the nations of the West to join with us in a defense of our lands, against the Sylph threat. We call upon you to join us in a Grand Conclave in Pagahara on the 6th day of the 8th month of the 942nd year of the Aedak calendar. There we shall decide the defenses of the West, and pledge to one another to defeat utterly this grave threat to us all.'
And so the missive was sent out, and the Grand Hall of the Palace was prepared for the day at hand. The hall was bedecked in the many flags of the nations that would be in attendance, and a large round table was constructed with enough seats from the primary delegates. Now, all that was left was to wait for them to arrive.
- Kalmar sends a request to the nations of the West to join them to discuss the Sylph Threat and how to defeat them.
