The Usakh Wars
Autumn of 942 YP
The Usakh Hordes gathered to the Court of the Wind Lord like something out of a fairy tale. As a tide receding before the crash of a tidal wave, the wandering tribes of the Usakhs centered themselves at the heart of ancestral Usakh lands to swear fealty to the House of the Four Winds. Teimuraz K'ari, unifier of the Usakhs and the first Wind Lord in over five centuries, would carry them forward to a new age of Usakh glory. No more would the lesser folk in their stone hovels spit upon their betters, the chosen people of the Eternal Sky. Just as the tides receded to gather their strength they would soon pour forth to wash away all who opposed them.
The outbreak of the Usakh Wars would begin with the borderlands of the Dalam-Aedak Mage Principalities. Kunwarum, Vanarajarum, and Zorawarum all faced raids as Usakh vanguards ranged ahead of the hordes. The battles were often small in combatants and short in overall time; the forward elements of the Usakhs were often elk-mounted tribesmen with little interest in intense conflict. Most, if not all of these battles, saw the Principalities victorious. Emboldened by their successes, Kunwarum and Vanarajarum saw fit to simply shore up their defenses and hold back the middling attempts of the Sylphan raiders with contemptuous ease. It only came as a surprise, then, when Zorawarum's north western border, hugging the Multewari riverlands, was struck with the force of a hurricane. A ferocious tide of Elk-borne cavalry and wind riding warriors flooded into the region, successfully routing an army of Zorawarum troops. Though hardly beaten, this sudden and vicious assault had taken the human Principality off-guard.
Ranging forces of the Principalities came back with clear descriptions of a horde the likes of which they had never seen before. Like out of the tales from the Invasion of the Winds, this vast assortment of warriors, villagers, specialist, and priests that moved like a sea across the landscape seemed more immense with each passing day. By all description, this horde was so huge that it outnumbered many cities of the north and, with their nomadic lifestyle, it seemed the Usakhs were literally carrying their industry with them. The potential for conquest carried on the backs of the Usakhs seemed inevitable as the Sylphs directed their entire race to the success of their invasion.

SUMMARY
-- The Usakhs begin the war with a victory against the army of Zorawarum, giving them a foothold in Zorawarum.
-- It is reported that the Usakhs have a horde of vast size forming the center of their host. Mechanically, this is a mobile population represented by city mechanics (1 Pop = 1 City District) that is mobile. It cannot be conquered in any way but the population can be forced to settle a region, adding to the local population.
