Uygoth and his men arrived on the Jotun islands directly from the Union, having crossed the border to the east and chartered a ship. He had done this with no particular concern for secrecy; indeed, the subtle threat was something he hoped the Recimir would consider with dread. Once on the island he sent word immediately to the capital, wishing to speak with High Jarl Wavestrider at his earliest convenience. No doubt the Jotun already knew of his mission, but that was the thing about the Jotun: they were so refreshingly direct and mercenary. While he waited, Uygoth took the time to scour the island for an appropriate gift to the Jarl. It was a great sadness that he was not able to bring one from Orcland, but time was of the essence, so he had to improvise.

The High Jarl met the Orcish delegation in a conference room off the great hall. "I understand you are in a rather expensive war right now, I assume you are looking for a trade deal with my kingdom? Maybe protect your shipping? Or are you looking to counter giants with giants? The Jotun will not march on the cheap my friends, especially when there is relatively so little in it for us. We require twenty-five thousand jien to bring us in to your fight and a further ten thousand ever six months to continune our invovlement. Miss a payment, we go home." Wavestrider's grin was sharp and toothy, not unlike the sharks of the great north sea.

"A hard bargain." Uygoth grumbled, then shrugged. It was still overall cheaper than a long, dragged out war with the Union. "But a fair one. Very well. Twenty-five thousand Jien now and twenty thousand per year afterwards. Of course, I do expect the Jotun to honor their contract, and not take any competing bids once our agreement is made. I would also request that you act in all haste. There is a lot of blood on the line here."

Since the beginning of the war, Uygoth had remained in Jotun territory as a liaison for the war. He was there for the initial successes, the raiding and damage that wore on the Union economy. Now that the Union had pushed into Jotun territory, his job was to keep the money flowing and assist the Jotun however he could. For that reason, he requested a meeting with the Jarl at his earliest convenience. Events had changed, and a new diplomatic push was coming. The Firetooth would get more involved with their allies.

The High Jarl agreed to meet with the Firetooth representative over lunch. Braised pheasant in a rich dark gravy. "I was sorry to hear of your losses in the west my prayers to the families. But it appears that things are heating up here as well. We will drive them back with fire and steel."

"I am glad to hear it." Uygoth replied. "I have every faith in the ability of you and your men. Currently we are pushing diplomatically to isolate the Union and cut off their funding. For that reason, I would ask you to consider the possibility of imposing a blockade on Union trade passing up and down the river. If possible, it would utterly cripple their ability to trade and drive down their funding. What say you?"
