The War of the Enlightened Throne
War Goal: Install Bai Qiang as ruler of Firouz Overview: The Tetrachy of Firouz (formerly the Kingdom of Firouz) had been divided upon the death of King Mai Huc De between his four sons Mai Bao, Mai Huong, Mai Xuan, and formerly Mai Quan now known by his Mogui name Bai Qiang. The Kingdom had immediately been plunged into anarchy when Mai Quan had moved against his eldest and most powerful brother Mai Bao. The rebellion had swiftly been crushed and Bai Qiang had fled with a few supporters to the ‘’ Devil Race ‘’ to the South. While Bai Qiang had been courting Mogui support, Mai Bao had been consolidating it. Bai Qiang’s former lands were annexed and Mai Bao had become the most powerful member of the Tetrarchy. The Northwest Front: When the Mogui Horde struck north, instead of meeting feuding Princes, Firouz had been united under Prince Mai Bao. He had not been idle as the Banner Armies tore across the border, he sent emissaries to the Orthodox Kingdoms of the Duchy of Damgh and the Confederacy of Ansha requesting aid. The Firouzian Army met the advance elements of the Fen Banner Army at the small village of Quan Ngai, where local Firouzian troops were soundly routed by superior numbers and Mogui cavalry. The Battle had been far from decisive, with many of the Firouzian’s melting into the countryside and beginning a bloody campaign of guerilla warfare, striking Mogui supply lines as they became further and further stretched with the advance. As the frontier was swiftly conquered, Mai Bao withdrew his armies into the interior of Firouz to defend the old Imperial capital of Lao Cai, leaving the great fortified city of Can Trang under siege. The first attempt to quickly storm the battlements had been repulsed with a wall of flame, leaving hundreds dead and General Xinya still outside the walls. General Shen Xinya was facing his first challenge. He could bypass the city and pursue the main Firouzian Army into the interior, leaving a significant force in the rear to harass him. Or attempt to storm the city once more but Can Trang would not be easily conquered. Summary- Mogui forces win the minor battle of Quan Ngai and make advances into Giang Province. The fortified city of Can Trang stands in the path of the invading Mogui Army. - Messengers have been sent to the Duchy of Damgh and the Confederachy of Ansha requesting aid to repel the Devil Race! Casualties- 2,500 Mogui troops - 6,000 Firouzian troops.

The city of Can Trang would remain unconquered -- albeit with a Mogui army camped outside its gates. Rather than launch a costly siege, the Mogui had elected to leave behind an army to insure that the Firouzian's remained behind the walls. The result would be weeks of skirmishes, night raids, and probing attacks on Can Trang's walls but no true attempt would be made to destroy them.
To the East, Mogui cavalry pillaged and raided the Firouzian countryside. Once fertile farms were transformed into wasteland and the peasants that worked the land were put to the sword. Many of the men folk had been conscripted into Mai Bao's army for the upcoming showdown. Mai Bao would be robbed of much needed supplies and foodstuffs to feed his army. Winter would certainly bring starvation, making it imperative that the Prince move now for a decisive battle and expel the invaders before he became too weak.
Yet the last few weeks had caused the Mogui Horde to fragment into many pieces. Prince Mai Bao would never get a better chance to defeat the enemy. His large conscript army made for the plains of Wushan to stop the Mogui before they could besiege the Old Imperial capital. Messengers would be dispatched to the rampaging Mogui cavalry but it remained to be seen whether the fierce Orc's would arrive to participate.
-- 8 Supply expended. -- 1000 Mogui casualties. -- 2000 Firouzian casualties. -- See Battle of Wushan Plains Thread

Final Mark
The decisive victory at the Battle of Wushan Plains had ended the unted resistance of the Tetrarchy of Firouzia. Without the leadership of Prince Mai Bao, the Tetarchy collapsed into infighting. The surviving Princes Mai Huong and Mai Xuan had fled with a large force of supporters to the nearby Duchy of Damgh. Fighting would continue for weeks in the countryside, warg cavalry patrolling, looting, and slaughtering. Meanwhile, Bai Qiang quietly entered the old Imperial capital of Lao Cai with a Mogui army at his back. The city of Can Trang surrendered a month later, the Mogui storming into the city with the aid of a traitor. The populace was put to the sword in an orgy of violence and death, leaving little but ruins and corpses for those who had opposed the Mogui for so long. As the undisputed masters of the Kingdom, the Emperor had a choice to make, he could turn the Kingdom of Firouzia into a vassal state, allowing Ban Qiang the headache of governoring his people and policing the unrest. Or he could annex Firouze outright and turn it into a province of the Empire Claim Firouze as a Vassal State:- Lose Ban Qiang as a character + Gain 10 Gold a turn in tribute + Must keep 1 Banner Army in Firouze to keep Ban Qiang in power for three turns until the Firouzian army is rebuilt. + Can call up Firouzian troops for military service. Annex Firouze: + Gain two provinces, 16 population, and 1 three district city. - Permanent -1 unrest; heightened risk of rebellion. - Provinces will not provide income or resources for two turns as Firouze rebuilds.
