Qui Lan Province
The race to the West had sent every scoundrel, cartographer, trader, and mercenary towards the continent. Lukas Cardovo, a merchant from the Navaran port of Leoten, was proud to admit that he was one of them. His primary backer, the Middle Sea Trading Company, was only too eager to expand its commercial links and by extension, the Empire's. It appeared that the West was its only melting pot of political rivalries, religious extremism, and varying races. With the Dyodorists actively promoting the extermination or enslavement of the so called ' Devil Races', Cardovo had been advised to seek friendlier shores to anchor and trade as he happened to call himself a proud Sylph.
It was here in Qui Lan that he hoped to find that port. The Sea Sprite, a small sloop, cut through the water towards the port city looming in the distance. Cardovo had been keen to make sure that the gunports where the sloop's small armament of cannon were hidden. He didn't want the Mogui to see his arrival as a threat. The colors of the Sefti - Esharan Empire were run up, a blue banner with its distinct double headed eagle. It was only a matter of time until the harbormaster would appear to guide them to a berth. In Cardovo's experience, it was wise to have his coin purse ready to smooth along these transactions.
Now he would wait.

These travelers are eagerly welcomed into port as soon as their banner is sighted. As the Emperor Kang Fen himself has declared that all foreigners from the East should be treated with the utmost respect. Once ashore Cardovo is greeted by a contingent of officers and government officials ready to serve him in any way.
"Welcome to our humble home, Sir" joyously shouts the most senior of the officers. " We are here to represent our Emperor while he attends to urgent matters in the capital, and we are prepared to discuss any matters you bring from your great Nation."

'' I bring greetings from His Majesty, Emperor Aeron Sefti of the Holy Esharan Empire. '' Cardovo said in carefully rehearsed words once his party had transitioned from the deck of his ship to a palace hall. A local interpreter they had hired on a port stop helping to ease any translation difficulties. '' And gifts for Emperor Kang Fen. '' The merchant ship had managed to pick up rudimentary intelligence on the Mogui, while Cardovo couldn't begin to understand the internal political machinations, he at least knew the name of the nation's ruler. A porter stepped forward bearing an intricately detailed map of the Northern continent.
'' The Emperor seeks to open new commercial links with the Western powers and seek to aid those who would oppose the cruel Dyodorists. He has specifically sent me here first to request permission to open a trading outpost, a legal Esharan enclave where we can facilitate the exchange of goods and services at fair prices. ''

"We'd be honored to allow the Holy Empire of Eshara to establish an outpost in our lands, as we believe in would be most beneficial for the both of our great nations to work together against the Dydorist menace that plague these lands."
