I write to you with grave concerns on the current state of the Northern Continent. While we have known decades of peace, I fear that tensions have increased by the day with the rise of the Union in the North that claims to be the embodiment of old pagan Eshara. There has been much in the way of saber rattling, calls to end 'southern slavery'. I fear that these bold words will lead to bolder actions. In the South, Karmozijin Kerk remains surrounded by a sea of pagans. After two sieges, I do not fear for the fall of the White City but I do believe for the need to diversify the training o a new Northern generation of Tovenaar. His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Aeron, has requested the opening of such a school. The Empire lacks protection against rogue pagan spell casters but with the help of Aed and the Vaekirate, I believe that we can erase this weakness and turn it into a wellspring of strength for the Aedek North and protect our brothers and sisters from the Sword of the aggressor. I await your reply.

Chief Priest Leolin,
We regret to inform you that the Vaekir is most busy with matters in the south and could no individually respond to your request. Despite this the Collegiate Convocation has determined that your request is not unreasonable; in fact, colleges in the North are beginning to become highly sought after and even more likely to be given. Though we do not necessarily share your fears or interests in making war with the Holy Union, it will be said that the Esharan Empire has faithfully kept to the Books and stands as a model of Orthodoxy, albeit a more strong willed variant, in the North. As such we see no reason to deny your request and, pending permits being signed and approval voted on by the Conclave, the Empire shall have its college.
As for funding the price of the college, the Vaekirate will offer to pay ONE FOURTH of the total cost necessary in order to assist in the college's swift and efficient formation. The college, as always, shall be maintained using local funds but shall be administered by and officially property of the Vaekirate. If this is not to your liking than this College shall be denied as is the legal recourse for such an exchange. We thank you for your cooperation on the matter.

I fear that my darkest fears have come true. The Northern Pagan's are supporting a revolt in the South against the legitimate King Rhodri Aeron Sefti. While I would not normally ask the Vaekirate to intervene in the domestic affairs of a nation, I fear I must do so now to avoid further bloodshed. New Byrnis in a power play to expand its own influence in the South has also come out in support of the rebellion. The Commonwealth now faces a war on two fronts that could dramatically alter the fate of the entire region. The North under Aeron Sefti is the bulwark against Old Eshara. The so called Reclimir has stated his hatred time and time again for Aed, viewing it as the religion of the South, and his desire to conquer 'Old Eshara'. These lands are now held by the Sefti and hundreds of thousands of followers of Aed. I would ask that the Vaekirate pressure Byrnis to reign in the ambitions of its colony on the continent and offer whatever other support that it can in the coming war with the pagans.

For the first time since the Great Northern War, an Aedek city has been destroyed and its populace subjected to the cruelty of siege guns and mortars that have killed thousands. Even in the Great Northern War, I cannot remember such willful destruction. Men, women, and children wiped out in an instant. There can be no justification for this. The New Byrnian's have illegally inserted themselves into a succession crisis by supporting rebel factions in the South and in so doing so have shed the blood of thousands of Martyrs. The Vaekirate has been silent thus far on this war and I must now ask Your Holiness to make its position known. I ask His Holiness to excommunicate the Grand Mayor of New Byrnis and Her family. Pressure their patrons in Byrnia to bring these monsters to heel. I fear if you do not, there will be more bloodshed, more dead Aedek, and the only benefit will be to Sefti's pagan enemies in the Far North who even now as we speak are throwing themselves on the Empire's Northern Defenses.

To Aed's Honored Servant,
These actions have wounded all Aedakom across the world. We will not sit idly by and see an Aedak city so violated; indeed, such a thing has not been seen since the sacking of Byrnia at the hands of the tyrant Waentaer. The Vaekir has seen fit to push forward several proclamations that shall see to it that such an atrocity shall never occur again. If New Byrnis refuses to follow these demands then the results will be clear; excommunication and immediate action by the forces of the Vaekirate to end this unholy action. The proclamations shall be made within the day and sent forth to the North and, indeed, all Aedakom across the world and beneath Aed's gaze with haste granted by Him in his infinite mercy.
