JULY 3 - TURN 1 START AND FIRST ROUND OF REVISIONS The final hurdle to starting the game was going through the ledgers and editing them for balance. Over the course of this process, many mechanical balance issues were revealed and resolved. - Turn 1 has officially started! Please post turn actions! Turns will change about every two weeks.
- WESTERN MECHANICS: Standing Levies now have higher upkeep (3 Gold/turn) and cost Supply to deploy. Westerners also have Fortification capped at Lvl 6.
- BASIC RESOURCES: Supply is now produced at a rate of 3 per pop. Furthermore, Irrigation now boosts Food production by 50% rather than 100%.
- LUXURY RESOURCES: See Creating a Kingdom thread for expanded effects! Also, Trades Districts now produce only 3 commodity slots instead of 5.
- FORTIFICATION: Army Districts now provide Level 4 Fortification in the district, Army Bureaucracy (Administration District) now boosts city's fortification level by 1 in all districts, Blockhouses now boost provincial fortification level by 2, and Military Governors have had their effects changed - now they allow players to pay to build up fortifications in cities and provinces.
- UNIQUE TRAITS: Kaersch, Firetooth, Shambhala, and Mogui traits have all undergone minor revisions.
- NEW PROVINCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE: The new construct, Frontier Post, has been added! It allows players to colonize over land rather than sea.
We also added 2 new religions, Bahism and Zunzhong! And more importantly, based on realm histories as well as some random rolls, we have assigned Rulers Traits, which will modify their abilities and possibly influence interactions with NPCs. Some of you will notice that you start with other Agents marked with Non-Replaceable. These are agents we felt reflected important aspects of your lore and history: They are free to maintain, but unlike your Ruler they are not automatically replaced when killed. If you have any questions about these changes or anything else, please post in the Questions thread! If you have a particular concern about your own Ledger, such as possible math errors or missing trait effects or unnamed characters/holdings, please PM a moderator. UPCOMING UPDATES: We will be adding NPCs to the map of the West as soon as possible. In the meantime, feel free to ask a moderator about who controls territory you have an interest in!

New Diplomacy Civic Doctrine has been added as an option. It focuses on enabling you to more easily and freely interact with other players and get advantages for doing so.
