The Return of Baemir.-
Baemir had fallen to the attacks of the orcs and the Sacrye giants , they had abandoned en masse Baemir in several groups, some of them led by a member of the royal family of Baemir , while others by whoever was strong enough to provide some sort of security and protection to the group. They headed to the west and would travel the harsh steppes and unforgiving mountain ranges , as to why they headed west it was simple , Baemir had kept communication and small-scale trade with their homeland Kaersch , they knew that an Empire had been formed and they were slowly but surely recovering from the past disasters, the King of Baemir knowing that his kingdom would sooner or later fall to its enemies, knowing this and with the hopes of saving his people what hell would come with the rule of the Giants, sent a message to Kaersch pledging servitude and loyalty to their Imperator in exchange of being received and his people cared for. It took two years for the answer to arrive and by that time most of what was left of the population of Baemir had already left their land and put a foot on the arid steppes that were found on the road to the west.
The exodus of Baemir was planned by their King , who with whoever volunteered to stay to defend the capital in order to keep the Sacrye from persecuting the now refugees of Baemir , all of his sons except one , who was ordered by the King himself to lead the refugees and make sure that they reached Kaersch the journey like expected was harsh and many would perish from several sources, like starvation, thirst, heat and combat, the King of Baemir now without lands and only holding the loyalty of his people had a hard time keeping their spirits up, from time to time contact with Kaersch was made , but no help could be sent as the lands were too infested with orcs and bandits, as such , the people of Baemir learned to fight for their lives every single day , the soldiers of Baemir were now hardened and veteran by years of fighting with the inhabitants of the steppes, the last obstacle to reach Kaersch was a mountain chain that proved as lethal as big and it further diminished the numbers of the Baemir people.
Internally the group of refugees had a couple of problems like leadership one, as it wasn’t often a single group going to Kaersch but several that often communicated with each other and sometimes they didn’t as such loyalty certainly became into question by the King, but more often the deviants were often persuaded by either the words of King or the threat of being wiped out if they were alone. It was also during this period that the soldiers and people of Baemir started to use the rifle as their main weapon, weapon that they carried in great numbers often buying it from merchants or producing it themselves , the rifle was a perfect weapon for the Baemir Wanderers who preferred to fight at long distances rather than to fight in close melee with the orcs who could have easily defeated them with ease.
Once the mountain chain was traversed, the Baemir refuges found themselves in their real homeland who for them was but a strange place, it was very diverse in both its weather and landscape, the people there was also nothing like in the East and they often found themselves with trouble when trying to communicate with the locals , some recognized some words of their language as those found in the language of Kaersch, as such , they helped them to reach their destination, at a cost ,said cost was the things they brought from the East like their guns and sometimes their delicacies , they shared their stories about the East and their travel , and soon enough they became famous and well welcomed, at least, by those of the Dydorist faith and the ones that didn’t have the Confederation of Kaersch as enemies. Their legend soon became known in the west and as such the western curiosity about the east and south nations primed for a couple of decades with many stories and books being published about what they believed there was in the East and the South , most of if fiction combined with some real facts given by the refuges of Baemir
After a decade of traveling towards through the steppes and mountain chain , they finally made it to Kaersch where they would be received with open arms by the population of the Confederation, who believed that they were their lost brothers and sisters, of course, their cultures and language had diverged with the time, but the structure of the society and their tradition remained a shared point between those from the East and the West. In total three thousand Baemirians made it from the ten thousand that were at the start of the journey, the Imperator had made sure that they would have a place to be and as such he designated for them a place in Imperial Province of Larnos, where they still reside today.
The technology they had brought from the East to the West surely was put to use by the Imperial Confederation which quickly used it to its advantage in order to solve a couple of problems some raider groups in borders and internal resistance to the Confederation. But the one thing that would be the most useful to the Imperator were the people of Baemir who were now veteran Warriors and abid users of the rifle and musket they were organized in a single regiment , led by their King and were quickly dispatched to where they were needed , in exchange the Imperator granted them more lands and money , both things that they welcomed to quickly settle in Larnos , most of the money they got was used on housing, while some other parts were used don collective projects for the whole new town that was being formed by the refugees of Baemir. Such was the services of the people of Baemir , that the Imperator reinstated the title of Kingdom of Baemir and King & Queen of Baemir , the kingdom although nominal restored the status of Baemir on their homeland and that of its King, as such a great bond between the Imperator and the Kingdom of Baemir was formed , something that only serves the best interest of the Confederation which by then seemed to gain strength again and again.
Now the people of Baemir continue to be staunch supporters of the Imperator and the Confederacy , and their regiment is now part of the Bodyguard of the Imperator known as the Imperial Hunters , there are also other regiments to their name all formed by Baemirians. They are a standing proof that Dydor stands with its with its faithful.
