History:
The Republic of Vinaya, known traditionally as the Most Serene Republic of Vinaya, has sat upon the southern coast of the continent since the Age of Northern Independence. The merchant republic's roots lie in the historically prosperous city of Vinaya from where the city state has grown into a prominent trading and naval power in the Middle Sea following it's violent rebellion from Survaekom rule in the past age. Staunch upholders of both the true faith of Esharan Paganism and the values of republicanism, Vinaya in it's early years faced a number of hardships and loss on an often hostile continent, and it would not be until after the Great Northern War that her luck would begin to turn.
Following the storm of the 50 years of bloodshed and chaos, the year stands now at 900 AYP. The Serene League of Vinaya serves as the consolidated power of the southern coast Pagans in a union of the nations of Vinaya, Juturna and Hessnya. Though the nation remains divided from their religious kin by a continent now dominated by the Aedak faith, Vinaya has remained true to her founding values and remains a beacon of the Pantheon and old Lucente in the south. Likewise, she has held true to her naval traditions and the Vinayan Armada boasts to be one of the greatest navies in the known world. As a new age rises which promises progress and advancement, Vinaya looks to leave her mark upon the world and it's history with great ambition.
