So, I've had some people ask me about creating a new forum, and others talking about rebooting C&S here. I'm throwing out this poll to see what people would like to do next, now that our current forum is winding down. Please feel free to vote and leave comments. Note: Names are tentative.
Church and State Fast Forward
There's still some solid possibility on this forum. The other mods and I are considering kicking in a short "fast forward" of a few years as a way to trim stalled topics and get things moving again.
Notable Features:
- What we have here already
Return to Allis
This would be a continuation of the long-running Allis series. The central plotline would be the exiled races returning to a barren, devastated Allis in an effort to colonize and reclaim it. For those of you not familiar with Allis, it is a high-fantasy setting where civilizations frequently interact with gods and other divine elements, and relations with the divine play a key role in the game.
Notable Features:
- Players could be mortal races returning to Allis - or demonic races that have colonized it in the meantime. Different mechanics for each group.
- Heroes and modmarks playing a key part in the setting.
- Customization options for gods, armies and heroes
Skies of Morovia
This would be a dieselpunk style game with a tech-level roughly equal to the 1930's. The world would be a vast land of mountaintop continents and islands over a sea of clouds, with civilizations having fleets of airships.
Notable Features:
- Strong Resource & Logistics elements. Ships need resupply ports and landing places to effectively travel.
- Robust system of trade routes and trade control where players can buy from/sell to routes and try to control them.
- System for ideologies and political influence
Stellar Development
This would be a Science Fiction game where players colonize a new planet. Everyone would be racing to claim the world under the watchful eye of the Galactic Settlement Administration, hoping that through military force, diplomacy, or population, they could get final claim to the planet.
Notable Features:
- Nonrenewable Resources
- Small Scale game. A few suites of power armor or a tank are a big deal.
- Technology system based on what you can make
Bronze Cauldron
Bronze Cauldron would be a game based on ancient civilizations from around the bronze age in a land similar to Mesopotamia.
Notable Features:
- Tech would be tied to people/populations rather than factions. Want iron smithing? Conquer a city from a civ that has it.
- Very customizable civilizations. Lots of tech/customs to pick from. Play as nomads, city-states, empires, etc.
- Robust system of trade routes and trade control where players can buy from/sell to routes and try to control them.
