King Abbettine stirred from his fitful sleep as once again the echos of his memory failed to mach the sounds that his city bout to his ear. The echos of the ever so slowly rising song of the night as it approached day brake sounded false and hollow to the kings ears. his dreams as it always had been was of the never ending echoes of the endless caves. The construction of new cord had been a great feat and saved his people lives, but had done nothing for their hearts. The people had took meany hard hits in the pass few years with the great flooding and the march across the great silence to even to new cord who's stones know no song. even now he could hear the hammering in the distance natural caves of construction. both of to meet their needs of the people and to shape the echos of the faltering song. If not for himself and the ever fateful Edward his people may have given up heart entirely. For now Abbettine knew that he must bring his people song back into tune even if it was to a new song. and as Abbettine was rising with perpetration for the morning song his mind was on the next step of his plan for when he will meet this morning with Tulio and Miguel.

king Abbettine in his most ornate of robes to survive the great flooding lead his bodyguard in a song of great welcoming as the two explorers enter into the palace grand hall. the king smiled, at least the echos rebounded properly in the palace unlike the caverns of the greater city proper. as the 2 explorers walked up the 2 of them were a study of contrast. Tulio tall dark haired and a leader of the common people strolled proudly a image of a proper dwarf. Miguel in contrast had hair the color of gold and wile not quite as beloved by the people was a loyal servant to the crown. in a deep rich voice the king proclames "Welcome Tulio and Miguel the 2 men who risk their life to find the safe path to our new home after the great flooding. I have not called you 2 here to just sing praises for I have a quest and a boon for both of you. First the quest i want you 2 to explore the 2 great mountains on the edge of our east and west borders. Tulio i want to to go to the eastern mountain because the wild hunt has grown restless again and i want you to keep a eye out for trouble wile exploring. and for you Miguel I leave the greater of the 2 task for the mountain on the west border is grander sill. With this quest you two will stray farther from the song then ever before and i fear for your hearts. to combat this i have relics from the endless caves." Abbettine then jesters and 2 guards step ford and present 2 boxes to the explorers. inside each are 2 golden bell earrings. "With these bells "says the old king" you two will carry the song with you with every step". both of the explores bowed with gratitude and expressed their thanks before quickly leaving to prepare for the long and hard trips ahead of them.

Stirrings of Discontent
It began as a series of seemingly minor complaints. Peasant elders arrived in local courts, petitioning for redress against the foreign goblins ruining their farms with forest magicks and forcing them to change their traditional ways of life. Nobles grumbled about resources being sapped from their rightful lands by goblin prospectors without their consent. Merchants bemoaned how once-stable markets had degenerated as supplies of wood, grain, and iron seemed to fluctuate unpredictably. Why were foreigners meddling with the lands of the realm and what lay within them, neglecting the traditional rights and practices of estate holders and yeoman proprietors? As was always the case in such matters of local land and local law, before word could reach the king himself, local Crown authorities had to deal with the complaints themselves. Naturally, they informed the various petitioners and naysayers that these changes were no accident or unlawful meddling, but rather exchanges approved directly by their high liege King Abettine. The escalation that ensued was more sudden than the King's representatives could have predicted. Disturbed that their King would ignore their long-held customs and the integrity of their estates, flying in the face of feudal expectations, the aggrieved took matters into their own hands. Goblin prospectors were attacked on the roads, mages driven out by mobs, and even the King's tax collectors were prevented from completing their duties in many locales. While their goblin neighbors might have understood the larger picture of these things as rational-minded Darvinists, the dwarves of the Thrum were deeply rooted in the land and their community traditions. They would not simply keel over before upstart foreigners desecrating their land and stealing their rightful production, not even if these foreigners had the approval of the dwarves' own King. __________ -- ALL Gurd retinues in Thrum villages are EXPELLED. -- ALL Gurd collection/reception of Thrum resources is HALTED. -- Thrum LOSES 10 Gold in taxes this turn. -- Choose one of the following responses: - Bow to Popular Demands: It is not a King's place to trample over the peasants, burghers, and nobles. Their case is undeniably just according to the customs and laws of the Thrum. +1 Piety, +10 Gold, cancel ALL Resource Exchange/Node-Working Deals with Gurd, all future deals with foreign realms about resource collection must be approved by the nobility and city councils (must make explicit deal in Diplomacy and subsequently post in Realm Activity, awaiting Modmark before deals can go into effect). Unrest will end.
- Try to Compromise: We must listen to the grievances, but we cannot simply dissolve our arrangements with our goblin friends. They are too profitable for the Crown! Maybe we can reach some sort of deal? Gurd mages may no longer work Thrum Nodes. Other Resource Exchange/Node-Working Deals must be explicitly negotiated in Diplomacy before they can go into effect (this goes for current deals as well, which are postponed until Diplomacy is concluded). Future unrest unlikely.
- Ignore The Complaints: The King knows best! Simple-minded peasants, conniving nobles, and greedy merchants should know their place! Those who continue in their insolence will be forced to comply! -2 Piety, -10 Gold, resume all deals with Gurd. Unrest will almost certainly escalate.
