They came with the stroke of oars, the firing of gun and cannon, and the cries of war. Panic and terror spread before them as women and children fled for the fields and the militia rushed to seize their weapons and prepare for battle. Fifteen longships scraped up onto the beach just outside the village, unloading nearly two thousand giants. The Jotun had come again to Navarra, and they came with looting and violence in mind. Summary:The village of Fulger is close to the ocean. Fire from the longship cannons can cover the village. The Jotun have the element of surprise. Navarran troops begin the battle demoralized. Navarra has no professional troops in the area. The village has 3 regiments of levies to repel the raid.

Thane Gudrik the Blood Dancer approached the center of the village with 500 Jotun Vikings. As the Sylph pikemen prepared to meet a charge, he ordered the musketeers to open fire, bombarding the enemy position with the equivalent of light cannonfire and causing a great deal of suffering in the Sylphan ranks. But despite being shaken, the militia held together and met Gudrik's charge. The battle was clearly one sided, with Gudrik ripping through foes and the Sylph pikes nearly useless against thick giant hides and armor. But despite that it would prove surprisingly difficult for the giants, who were downright sloppy in their attack, likely out of complacency.
The story was similar on the right flank, where the Sylph archers attempted to fly around the line of marines and attack the ships. General Stae would have none of the tactic, and caught the flying regiment with a volley of grapeshot from his small entourage of horse artillery. The remaining archers retreated to the village and would put up stiff but ultimately futile resistance, slowing the attackers. The fighting dragged on as the Sylphs refused to retreat, resulting in enormous casualties to the levies. The left flank would route upon hearing news that the center had fallen, and many of the fleeing Sylph would be shot down in retreat. In the end, all the defenders had cost the Jotun was time and a little bit of blood.

The village was thoroughly looted of anything valuable by the Jotun raiders while the populace was sorted. Those who could show themselves to be Aedak were given refuge and would be put ashore in a friendly, faithful country. Those who were not, and who would make valuable slaves, were bound and thrown into the empty cargo ships which had joined the fleet for this purpose. That finished, the village was put to the torch and the Jotun sailed away as swiftly as they had come. By the time the Navaran army arrived there would be nothing left of the village to save.
SUMMARY - Fulger DESTROYED - Jotun gain 5 Gold from Looting - 2200 Sylph peasants enslaved
