By the decree of the Chief Priest of the North and Sovereign of Karmozijn Kerk, Staas I the Wise, makes the formal request on behalf of Karmozijn Kerk that all faithful Aedakom in the North come to the aid of the northern holy city in it's hour of need; the Kingdom of Elon, ruled by the famed King Azlyn and having recently began settling across the Ryn near Karmozijn Kerk, has refused a peaceful accord to remain on the opposite side of the Ryn. The request by Staas is twofold; all faithful rulers should pressure Elon in accepting terms with Karmozijn Kerk through diplomatic means only and all those who feel strongly on the issue should offer troops to garrison the lands around Karmozijn Kerk to safeguard the land from being settled more by the Elonese. Although unable to provide rich reward due to the recent end of the Fifteen Years War, the Chief Priests gives promise that those nations that aid in Karmozijn Kerk's defense will receive favor with the Vaekir and the Vaekirate for defending the faith in the North.
-- By request of Chief Priest Staas I the Wise, any and all Orthodox Aedak realms willing and desiring to protect the sovereignty of Karmozijn Kerk are to rally together to oppose the settlement of the eastern bank of the Ryn by the Kingdom of Elon.
-- The request is to receive diplomatic aid in convincing Elon to return to the western bank or to provide military assistance in protecting the lands around Karmozijn Kerk from being further settled.

Vaekir Declares Mission to the Wastelands
The most Holy Vaekir declares a great Mission to the Wasteland Orcs so that they may be converted to the True Faith. He calls upon all faithful Aedak realms to contribute missionaries and supplies to this grand effort.
Carrok Ironbelly Dies
Carrok Ironbelly, first Grandmaster of the Wardens of the North, has died. We mourn the death of such an honored Martyr of the faith, who forsook his homeland and House to better serve the faith. Carrok's death calls into question the continuation of the Wardens of the North. The Vaekir has made public his intentions to call a great council together to revive the ailing organization in the north.

The Ontare Crisis
King Enann Kath of Ontare has died suddenly and without an heir, plunging the realm into uncertainty regarding his succession. For now a Regency Council of influential merchant families administers the realm, but with their coin-counting and disagreements the realm will no doubt languish. Scholars of lineage and history have poured through the annals of the Kath family's lineage, tracing the intricate intermarriages, betrothals, and illegitimate children of the Lucentian royal families. After much research they have discovered three living kings who, through blood or intermarriage, carry a claim to the Kath's lands and titles - among them, the throne of Ontare. These three are Duque Augusto Francisco Ybarra Suero Rodrigo of Berranda, Serene Doge Osvald De Graffeo of Vinaya, and King Azlyn Christallo of Elon.
Whether any of their claimants will press their claim remains to be seen. The lands of Ontare are rich and wealthy, but competing claims could lead to great loss of treasure and bloodshed. Or perhaps none of these men will step forward, and the kingdom will languish back into the small trading post it once was.

The Union of Haiho and the Ausvinthus
Deep in the halls of the dwarves of Haiho, change was afoot. Priests and Philosophers from the realm of the Grey Elves, Esharan Pagans all, had swept in by request of the noble houses of Haiho to teach them the ways of the ancient faith; it had been a complete success. The faith in their own god was shaky at best, a creation of a newly forged state of Haiho rather than a deeply ingrained belief spanning generations. With the death of King Rassan from more mysterious causes like his predecessor and the conversion of the majority of Haiho to Esharan Paganism it came as an even greater surprise when Haiho offered a union with Ausvinthus; the world was filled with small, petty states that suffered at the hands of the greatest empires and it was in the opinion of the Haiho that if they were to stand separate, they were only going to die. With diplomacy about the details lasting little over a year, at long last the two parties had come to a decision: the ruler of Ausvinthus, Hairuwulf Theidis, would become elected ruler of the new union of states with councils from both states acting as legislators and governors in their separate nations. With the union their resources and assets would be used together to protect their lands and safeguard them from the mutual disasters that both fear.

Ontare Nobility Declare for Azlyn Christallo of Elon
The Regency Council of Ontare has, after much deliberation, elected to offer the crown to Azlyn Christallo of Elon under strict terms.
1. Ontare's Nobility will be equal to the High Lords of Elon, and have a seat on the King's Council.
2. That Ontare will remain explicitly Orthodox (Temple district in Ontare stays orthodox, and Elon cannot build Elonese Aedak buildings in Ontare, send missionaries to Ontare, or interfere with Ontare's religion).
3. Exemption from mandatory military service (Elon can request levies from Ontare villages, but they may choose to refuse or only send part of the requested forces).
4. Ontare's villages will pay half taxes for the first three years of Azlyn's rule (1/2 village tax for 12 turns).
5. Azlyn will petition and persuade the Vaekir to lift his excommunication.
6. Upon Azlyn's death, the crown will pass to his second heir, Princess Eloise, rather than Prince Chonney.
The nobility have begun to nominally follow Azlyn's commands, but he will not officially receive the crown until he signs an agreement binding him to the terms and his excommunication is lifted. Meanwhile, the discontent of the peasantry and clergy has only been partially mollified by the generous terms Azlyn has agreed to, and many complain that the nobility have taken advantage of the situation for their own gain. In particular, the peasantry widely believe that Azlyn poisoned or had a hand in Ennan's death and are widely discontent. The Duque Rodrigo of Berranda, meanwhile, still maintains a blood claim on the crown.

King Azlyn of Elon is willing to agree to all these stipulations, but the Crown of Elon and the Elonese Church are separate entities and as such, the king does not possess the authority to directly restrict the construction of religious buildings or the activity of religious missionaries. He will advise the high preist to not try to evengalize in Ontare, but can not sign into law or degree any promises on behalf of the Elonese church. However, the guarantee that the Ontare temple district shall remain Orthodox and that the Crown will take actions to keep anyone from interfering with the people's freedom to practice religion is something he can and will promise.

Given that conflict with the latter clauses of the third term of the regency's proposal may arise and the possibility of an unfavorable outcome of the petition required in the fifth term, King Azlyn humbly offers Ontare a counterproposal. One witch he feels will more truly and righteously adhere to the Late King Enann Kath's legacy and the will of the Ontare people and clergy as well as it's lords. Aed willing it may also allow both Elon and Ontare to remain firmly planted in the principles, religion and legacies of their nations and their duty. 1. Rather than naming King Azlyn Christallo King and ruler of Ontare, the regency council shall name him temporary viceroy and reagent, based upon his blood claim to the Throne of Kath. 2. Within 6 months of being granted this authority, King Azlyn will choose an native lord of Ontare to be his heir. This man or woman will have the following qualities: - Born native in Ontare.
- Raised in and true to the Orthodox Church of Aed
- Have worked personally along side King Enann
- Have the approval of both a counsel of lords and another of clergy.
3. Once selected and approved Azlyn will pass the throne of Ontare on to this adopted heir, who shall take the throne and hold it by right, passing it on through his/her family line. 4. Ontare and Elon shall remain independent states. With Ontare a free vassal kingdom under Elon's protection, not bound by Elon's laws, nor the will of its crown, but only the following terms of a pact. - 10% of Ontare's gold income will be sent to Elon,
- Ontare shall agree to not persecute any religion or religious servants or followers, heretic, pagan or otherwise.
- Ontare will keep open trade with Elon.
- Both Elon and Ontare will agree to a military defense alliance, promising to send free aid in order to protect from foreign invasion.
King Azlyn hopes that these terms will seem fair and just not only in the eyes of the regency counsel, but in the eyes of the rest of Ontare and especially in the eyes of Aed, lord creator, who's will it is the work of men to carry out. |

Duke Rodrigo of Berranda Presented the Crown of Ontare
As King Azlyn has refused to accept the terms offered by the Regency Council, and due to the recommendation of the clergy and commonfolk of Ontare, the Regency Council has elected to withdraw their offer and instead present the crown to the August Duque Rodrigo of Berranda, provided that he agrees to a single term: namely, that the Kingdom of Ontare will become the primary title of Rodrigo and his heirs, superseding that of the Duchy of Berranda. As Ontare is a Kingdom in its own right, it would be unseemly for a mere duke to rule it, and for other dukes to thus bend the knee.
But while the Peasantry rejoice at the choice of a faithful king, the nobility of Berranda grumble about the method in which their hand was forced. No doubt the new king, if he should become so, will soon have to contend with discontent nobles jockeying for more influence in his much-expanded court. Their presence may also throw up obstacles to Berranda's friendly relationship with the Commonwealth, which the dukes and counts of Ontare despise.

Jotun Fund Exploration to the Northlands!
News has spread across the north that Thane Gudrik of the Jotun has funded a massive expedition of many ships to sail north in search of the Gospodar homeland. While some regard the expedition as foolhardy and suicidal, others remember the tales the Gospodar tell of a rich land with many treasures. Only time will tell whether Gudrik's gamble will pay off or turn out to be a grand and costly mistake.

Jotun Expedition Returns!
The Jotun's mysterious expedition to the north has returned! Although exact details are scarce, rumors tell of their ships returning from parts unknown laden to the brim with gemstones and Almuric artifacts of great value. The distribution of such gems and artifacts on the market and a rise in the Jotun's coffers suggests that there may be some truth to the rumors. No doubt others will seek to follow after the Jotun's success.
Elon Launches Expedition to the Spicelands
Elon has launched an expedition aiming to sail west to the spicelands, hoping to discover a faster, easier naval route to circumvent the difficult and expensive land trade. Only time will tell if their expedition meets with the success of the Jotun, or abject failure.

Elonese Expedition Returns
The Elonese expedition to the Spicelands has returned. Security is tight in Dovwyn and rumors abound about the result of the voyage. The area around the returned fleet has been cordoned off, and so far no one is talking. Perhaps Elon found a treasure of immense value, or perhaps they're trying to hide an embarrassing failure?
