Kingdom Name: Jotun Clans
Religion:Orthodox Aedak
History: When the Fifteen Years' War broke out the Jotun stood by the Emperor and the Northern Contract. Their ships became a common sight across the north not only raiding as was their traditional methods of war, but ferrying cargo and troops for the imperial cause. Jarl Tholarg Wolfkin had cemented the fate of his kingdom to the imperial cause and it seemed like the Jotun would serve the empire to the bitter end. But fate has a nasty sense of the dramatic.
The Jarl's brother Gudrik the Blood Dancer suffered a personal tragedy near the close of the war that caused him to alter the destiny of the Jotun and perhaps the empire. Marching into an imperial army encampment as reinforcements and bringing supplies as was usual he turned his men on the soldiers of the empire in the dead of night slaughtering them to the last man. When the Emperor demanded Gudrik's head Tholarg would deny him, choosing his brother over his liege. The Jotun now fought their once allies, and with no less vigor than they had fought the rebel lords before. When the empire collapsed in the south and the Emperor withdrew his forces the Jotun returned to their island fastnesses to rebuild and recoover.
Now the Jotun stand poised to take full control of their own destiny for the first time in 50 years. The elders spin tales of mighty raids and daring deeds on high seas while young warriors eagerly practice at their arms. Having gained the knowledge of gunpowder from their former southern lords the Jotun will never again be unable to answer the sound of the cannon and musket.
