Chief Garlog Whiteshot (Warrior/General)
Unique among chiefs in that he knows he is largely a puppet, Garlog is happier than most to be the figurehead and troubleshooter while the Elders handle most of the more delicate problems. He's also a master marksman and a very, very dangerous Orc. He's crushed many western raiding parties under his heel to the point where they've essentially given up. Do what the Elders tell you, or Garlog will shoot you with a gun older than your grandfather.
History:
The Firetooth have a long history dating back before the current age. They are a clan of orcs on the edge of civilization, using the secrets of gunpowder to fend off their barbarian cousins to the west. Their mastery with gun and cannon is well known, but their secrecy and intense craftsmanship means that they eschew the tactics of modern nations like Survaek.
During Survaek's Conquest the Firetooth were little more than a footnote. Aside from supplying Eshara with (primitive) firearms and trading with both parties they kept out of the fighting, and given their status as a buffer-state and their use of Firearms, Survaek was happy to let them. As Survaek's legions rolled across the continent they sent tribute and paid lip service to the "Red Emperor," considering it a small price to pay for avoiding a long and potentially devastating war with a numerically superior enemy.
But the Firetooth were not untouched by events. Before the war a sizable minority of the Firetooth were already Aedekom, and their numbers only grew as missionaries poured across the border. Chief among these was Saint Elaiu, a Byrnian preacher who met with great success adapting Aedekom teachings to Firetooth traditions. He personally converted hundreds if not thousands of orcs, including the current chief and several elders. His success was so great that after a decade of work he decided to move west and try to enlighten the more barbaric clans, and has not been heard from since.
Nowadays most Firetooth are Aedekom, at least publicly. Many of the old religions still cling on in hamlets or old traditions, but the Vaekirate has been accepted into Firetooth life with open arms. Accepting the religion has given the Firetooth a common thread and open route to trade and interact with the rest of the world, as well as a firm political ally in the Vaekirate. More importantly, it has codified what used to be a jumbled mess of religions into a structure that supports the Clan's laws and traditions.
