King Jotheim the Third (Administrator/Spymaster/Merchant): King Jotheim has been around for a long time, he was present for the advent of Cerdigion and the war that followed. He has constantly worked to thwart the man’s efforts to obtain his throne, passing the title of heir on to his second daughter Merithea. In his old age he has begun to focus more and more on keeping his kingdom healthy and safe and the throne from Cadroc’s greedy hands.
Princess Athinea Sefti : Jotheim’s oldest daughter and former heir, she was initially married to Cadroc in the early days of the war to hopefully secure a peace, when the war broke out she was torn between her loyalty to her father and her love for her son. She holds no love for Cadroc but cares for their child nonetheless
Princess Merithea Sefti (General): The second oldest of Jotheim’s three children, Merithea is a consummate soldier, she fought in the war against Cerdigion and the Empire afterwards as a general, her distrust of Cadroc and Cerdigion runs deep while she tolerates the son of her older sibling, opting to wait and see if he turns out more like his father or his mother.
Prince Jolinar Sefti: The youngest child, Prince Jolinar avoided much of the war’s effects on his family, his fascinations have leaned towards engineering and architecture, wanting to create grand buildings and structures, he is the most devoted practitioner to the Aed in the family
History: The Kingdom of Sefti was formed upon a gathering of dozens of elven clans and tribes forming together to create an alliance to properly defend themselves against the raids of the Jotun clans, working together had allowed them some semblance of comfort and security from the constant raids of the Giants but even then they had been driven back by the giants sheer size and naval expertise. The Giants were successfully able to outmaneuver the elves superior land forces and cause heavy casualties.
In their desperation the elves of Sefti resorted to arcane rituals and magicks, summoning sylphs from the fey realms to aid in their fight against the Jotun threat. Their combined efforts proved to be effective enough to repel the Jotun after years of hard fighting, however the end of the war brought with it unintended consequences of large numbers of sylphs in Sefti territory, under the control of various warlords. In an effort to provide security for the kingdom, Jotheim married his oldest daughter to the most powerful of the Sylph warlords, Cadroc, in an effort to stabilize the kingdom.
However Cadroc's intentions of stealing the throne for himself were revealed when Jotheim and the noble council passed on the status of heir to his second oldest daughter, Cadroc betrayed the alliance and attacked Jotheim's capital, capturing it and forcing the elves back until an eventual stalemate resulted in years of hard fighting with no end or break in sight. That is until the Empire arrived, forcing the exhausted, shattered armies of both nations to band together in an effort to maintain their independence.
Their defeat resulted in a bending of the knee to the Imperial armies and swearing fealty to the Emperor himself, Aed missionaries entered Sefti lands and began converting an exhausted populace to the worship of the Aed though some still worship the old gods in secret. Now with a relative peace, Jotheim has begun rebuilding his people and their nation.
