Travelling from the Kerk on the southern most point of the island, a party of red robed priests an assorted retinue closed the distance to the Jotun's capital. Among them were numerous soldiery of many races, armed and armored in the standard of the Vaekirate Guard, and with them was a giant of imposing stature in the red and white robes of a Tovenaar. The trip took only a few days to make and soon they had arrived unharmed at the gates of Voltheim baring the banners of the Vaekirate.
"Giants of the Jotun Clans, we come baring word from the holy city of Messara."

The Vaekirate delegation was led to the palace and were met personally by the Jarl and his wife in one of the small audience chambers. Tholarg had been training in the yard with his men when the party had arrived so he was still in chain-mail and half-plate. He was excited to see the party, and as such stood for their meeting.
"I greet you and offer you welcome to my kingdom and my city. If there is anything you require during your stay you must merely ask. I've taken the liberty of having lodgings prepared for you in the palace. What word from the holy city my friends?"

The priest in charge of the expedition stepped forward and dropped into a low bow, throwing back his hood to reveal his sylph features and a long, gleaming smile that seemed too white to be natural. Behind him the rest of the party bowed, included the hooded and thickly clothed giant Tovenaar.
"My Lord Tholarg," intoned the priest in a sing-song fashion, "I am Zwerkir Brennus of Feymoure. Your hospitality is most generous. I come to bring you word from His Holiness, blessed Vaekir Koen I, and his humble servant Legate Haakon Titanhand. Your proposal to see the Tovenaar Lagertha Haakonsdottir married to one Thane Gudrik of the Jotun has been accepted, upon that approval of Lagertha herself; Haakon would see his daughter have a choice in her life as he did."

Tholarg nodded slowly. It wouldn't help calm his brother to marry him to a woman that wanted nothing to do with him. Though it did make feel a bit guilty for having not informed his brother yet of his plans for him.
"I have no issue with that condition. If she wishes she may come and stay as a guest of my household. Though to be honest I'm not sure when my brother will return seeing that he has gone to the west once more to stand with our fellow vassals against the wastelander hordes. Regardless, she is more than welcome to make the journey here at the time of her choosing."

"I already have," intoned the giant, pulling back her hood to reveal her feminine features, "And I intend to see this man whom you would have be my husband."
Brennus grinned and gave a sideways glance towards Lagertha before looking back to Tholarg.
"As you can see, good Jarl, Lagertha Haakonsdottir has already arrived. She was both eager to see her homeland and this supposed husband. As you can guess, she has not met many giants in Messara."

Tholarg was surprised but not displeased by this turn of events. "I'm honored to make your acquaintance my lady. As I've said my brother is on campaign, by now he has most likely arrived at Karmozijn Kerk and from there will join the war effort. I extend my hospitality to you until his return. You may stay in the palace and view the city at your leisure. Though if you wish, I will be sending my brother reinforcements and you may travel with those troops to meet with him if that is your desire."

"I shall join your reinforcements," Lagertha stated matter-of-factly, "My father always said an easy way to learn about a man is to see him in battle. A regiment of mounted Vaekirate Guard shall join me, if that is acceptable?"

"Of course, until the fleet departs feel free to tour the city. Your chambers should be prepared by now if you would like to rest, I'm sure the journey from the holy city was a long one. Unless you have anything you wish to discuss with us?" Tholarg was intrigued by this jotun who had been raised away from her people's culture.

"Lord Tholarg," called Priest Brennus as he stepped into the halls of the Jotun lord, "If I am not bothering you I have but one note to bring to you. I wanted to remind you of the new Holy Order founded in the north and the opportunity provided by it's foundation. The Vaekirate asks for men and supplies to be donated to it's creation in order to better the whole of the North. Might I say, those who donate will receive quite the boon from his Majesty. Any heroes of the faith who join will no doubt be granted position worthy of their new duty."

The Jarl nodded at the priest. "Yes we've been meaning to send aid but with the war in the west, well our attention has been elsewhere. I could offer 3 tonnes of stone for the chapter house. Dag Blackshield will join the order as the representative of the Jotun in the order. He is one of my commanders so I'm sure the order will find use of his skills."

"A wise decision, Jarl," nodded Brennus, grinning broadly, "I shall pen up a letter to the Chief Priest speaking of your generosity and desire to see the North safeguarded properly."

Outside Karmozijn Kerk
Thane Gudrik would come out to meet the reinforcements that had come from the homeland. It was mostly what had been discussed. However He had been surprised to find a detachment of Vaekirate cavalry among them and even more so to see young female giant among them. He learned from his commanders that She was the Daughter of the Titanhand but they apparently knew little of why she was there, only that she had been sent as an observer.
In the end he presented himself before her. "My lady it is an honor to make your acquaintance." He gave a respectful bow. "I am at your service, if you need anything you need only ask."

Lagertha raised a lithe brow as she stared down the infamous Thane Gudrik, her eyes taking in every detail from behind her hood. The respectful bow earned him one in return (though not nearly as low as the one he offered) before she straightened herself and tugged her hood free of her head, revealing her feminine (for a giant) features.
"The honor is all mine," she said, grinning faintly, "I will make sure to do so. A drink, perhaps."

Gudrik felt like he was being measured and he found it slighty uncomfortable. But regardless he un-cinched his water skin from his belt and offered it to her. "Water my lady? Anything stronger would have to wait until the end of today's march. You would be welcome to join myself and my commanders for dinner once we make camp, if you so wish."

Lagertha took the offered skin and took only the slightest of sips before returning it, her slate colored eyes inspecting Gudrik for displeasure in the action. Upon his offer she nodded her assent.
"Aye, I believe that shall be fine. At dinner, then."
With that she turned about, pulling her Tovenaar hood over her head and walking off with nothing else. Though not visible, a thin grin split her visage.
