It would be an early fall morning when the Ikeegami army arrived outside the Fort. The warriors left by Jodsar the Swift had built crude earthworks to pen in the fort's defenders. They would prepare thier men to engage the elves but were loath to take their eyes to far from the imperial garrison. All prepared for a battle that would take many lives.
ORDER OF BATTLE:
Allies (no set post order)
Imperial Garrison (Aspenivan) -- COMMANDER: General Yaldei Haie (Surv-Akur General, 100 knights, 10 horse artillery guns) -- Jezaili Captain Gogal Krath (Warrior-Ranged, 200 warriors) -- 2 units of Yvorom Cavalry (1,000 soldiers) -- 2 units of Survaekom Square (2,000 soldiers, 40 infantry guns) -- 1 unit of Field Artillery (100 soldiers, 20 guns)

Masateru grinned at the sight of the small host of wastelanders, they would regret coming with so small a force to attack the North, he turned to his army, nearly twenty thousand strong and couldn't be more proud of his men in their armor, the flags of the Ikegami on their backs, pikes, naginata, bow, musket and more in their hands and prepared for battle. The men and women here today would prove the might of the Ikegami and drive back the wastelander army.
Tactics would be simple for this fight, he doubted the Imperial troops in the fort would remain there once the battle was joined and he would pin them between the two armies. He turned around to face his troops, his horse falling to a slow trot as he went down the lines giving his orders.
"Archers, longbows! attack their archers, rain death down upon them and send them cowering back into the abysmal wastes from whence they came, those few who survive this battle, if any do will carry stories of this battle and the slaughter here to whisper fearfully amongst themselves."
Two thousand longbowmen and four thousand peasant archers shouted and moved into position, they would fire on the wastelander archers in order to suppress their own retaliation.
He turned next to his muskets and pikemen. The muskets would march out first in formation and fire a volley into the roundshier, two if they had time but otherwise they would fall back and the pikes would take their place to attack the hopefully shattered wastelander ranks.
Following that his Samurai would strike their left flank, with the remaining melee troops attacking the right to envelop the Wastelander horde.
--
2,000 Longbowmen and 4,000 peasant archer levy open fire on Wastelander archers
3,000 muskets march to open a volley, two if they can, on the wastelander roundshields before 3,000 pike take their place in classic maneuver to attack the roundshier.
2,000 Halberdiers attack on the left flank as the pikes charge, while 1,000 city shock, 2,000 city roundshier, and 2,000 peasant roundshier attack the right flank.
Longbows and archers will cease fire once the Wastelander archers rout or are otherwise annihilated.

Ugresh Runt Killer watched the approaching horde, his gut filling with something that suspicously felt like fear. The Elven bastards had hardly caught the Orc's by surprise, a horde that size could be seen and heard for miles. Ugresh's upstart force however was no match for the enemy, they would be caught between the fort and the elves with the funny names and crushed. The plan Ugresh had developed was simple: save his stinking hide. In order to accomplish that, he'd left two thousand of his lads dug into the earth works while the greater part of his force of 4,000 withdrew into the safety of the Wastes. If he was lucky...the pointy earred buggard would even follow him. In the meantime, one thousand archers and infantry dug themselves in behind the earthworks while the evacuation took place.
SUMMARY: -- 1000 archers and 1000 roundshier hold the earthworks while the bulk of the force retreats.

Allied flags to the Southeast, and enemy banners falling back to the West! It was the moment General Yaldei Haie had been waiting for. " Yvorom mount up, and send word to the infantry! Prepare to sally!" Horns, drums, and signal-flags did their work, filling the air with color and music. Cavalry-soldiers flocked to the fortress center while the infantry left their earthworks and formed ranks. The field artillery stayed in place and bombarded the wasteland lines: The enemy earthworks were at the far end of the cannons' range, but with all the guns firing hopefully they would do more damage than the more sporadic pot-shots they had been taking up till now. Meanwhile, the jezail sharpshooters moved forward to skirmish with the orcs, aiming to pin them down and disrupt their lines. With all possible haste, the main Survaekom army formed up just West of the fortress walls. The infantry formed a line of staggered boxes: 9 five-rank lines of 100 musketeers at intervals in front, 8 boxes of 100 pikes at each interval (between musket-blocks) but shifted behind the front line of muskets, five infantry guns filling the intervals parallel to the muskets, and three musket-blocks standing in reserve behind the main lines. A regiment of Yvorom guarded each flank of the formation, while General Haie took rear-center with his elite knights and horse-artillery. Once the army had advanced to one-hundred meters from the orcish lines, the fight began in earnest. The two-pounders, each small enough to be pulled by a pair of soldiers, deployed and began firing cannonballs into the enemy positions. Further behind, the horse artillery did the same. The proud Surv-Akur musketeers (not counting the reserves) practiced their drill of fire and advance, each rank advancing after the one in front of it had loosed a volley in cycle. Thus the nine blocks of muskets moved steadily forward without significant pause in their shooting. The cavalry, for their part, slowly began to fan out on either side while laying down a relentless hail of arrows upon the invaders. Whenever they saw the opportunity to pass around or charge through the makeshift enemy defensive line, they had permission to pursue and harass the retreating main body. _____ SUMMARY: -- Field Battery stays put and bombards from long range -- Warrior-Ranged skirmishes with the enemy to pin down and disrupt -- 2 units of Survaekom Square attack the rear guard: infantry guns fire while guarded by pikes, while most of the muskets fire and advance -- Yvorom fire arrows from each flank of the Survaekom infantry and search for opportunities to break (or pass) through the wastelander rear guard. If they find such an opportunity, they will push through and then harass the main enemy army. -- Surv-Akur General stays just behind the infantry, with horse artillery firing at the rear guard

The Battle of Fort Riverrock was both over quickly and at same time drawn out well beyond the length one would expect. The actual combat of armies drawing battle lines and engadging in mass combat was over in a matter of 4 hours. During which not a single orc of the rearguard fled their position and were killed to a man. However the Yvorom cavalries pursuit of the fleeing units would last 2 days until they chose to break off pursuit due to lack of supplies. Each time contact was made only a small portion of the fleeing host would make a stand. each time extracting heavy tolls on the imperial troops. The troops that excaped
