The festival was open. Vendors had set up stalls all along the streets and a great fire burned in the city center to keep guests warm. Games of all kinds were in progress and many people celebrated. It was a celebration unlike anything that had been seen in Firetooth lands for a generation. And above all, the new cathedral of Erasmus overlooked the festivities.
((This is the basic festival topic. Feel free to post whatever you want here. Anyone can join in.)

The festival was a huge affair people from all over had come to this event, which made it perfect for Naozumi, his children were off preparing for the contests and he was left by himself for the moment, wandering the stalls and city of Thundercrown in an ornate blue hakama with the Ikegami symbol on the front and back, he was looking for one man in particular, Chief Priest Staas was rumored to be attending the event and Naozumi had something to discuss with the man, something that he would rather keep many of his people from knowing about, at least for the moment.

Queen Chello and several of her retainers arrived by ship up the Ryn River. She breathed in the cold air with exhilaration. The smells of pine smoke and snow tingled her nose and it reminded her of her childhood. She usually hated traveling, but this time was an exception. She could see it now, shining on the mountain tops of Thundercrown, gleaming in the sunshine.
Eloise pulled at her skirt and Chello smiled, picking her daughter up. "See up there on top of the mountain?" she asked pointing over the steep roofs of the town, "The while shining up there, that's snow. We don't have it at home, but it snows every year up here and back in Arkhaer where Mama grew up."
"Is it the snow that makes it cold?" Eloise asked, looking around with big curious eyes. Behind them, Adanna Dale, the nurse maid came up, holding Baby Chonnhy on her hip.
"No, it snows because it's so cold, El," she explained, "In Elon it hardly ever gets cold enough, though one year we got some snow in Bartia. It was before your time, my Lady," she said glancing at Chello.
"I'm just glad we could all come," Chello said, smiling at both her children.

Azlyn didn't take the boat. Truth be told he was a little nervous about the whole family coming to Thundercrown, while the waistlanders were on the warpath. The firetooth were known at the arch nemeses of the Waistlanders and he didn't want his wife and children caught in the middle of their old grudge match. but they're promised chief Garlog and the Elders that were would attend and the festival would only last a few days. Surely Aed would protect them all, as the holy cathedral was dedicated in his holy name.
Azlyn road with his troops up the river road, taking some time along the way to check in at the River Road Outposts and inspecting the new muskets they'd been send and speaking with the commanders in charge, before moving on toward Tundercrown. Once there, he asked for Chief Garlog, eager to greet their host and also anxious to know what securities and watches were in place and if he and his men could in anyway.
