"Fellow subjects of the Grand Survaek Empire," announced Ishui Seldu, standing in his box with arms extended outward, "let us welcome the victorious champions of last week's duels, here to face one another in the next round!" The amphitheater practically burst with emphatic applause, and even the Vizier of the North himself gave a good clap for the contestants as they entered the field and bowed before the spectators. Today's event would take place in a large, modified ring. Instead of a flat enclosed field, combat would take place on the slopes of a small "hill" which peaked in the center. For the two fights pitting giant against humanoid, the humanoid would occupy the peak from the start, hopefully making up somewhat for the 6-8 foot difference in height. For the other two duels, the combatants would begin on opposite sides, making speed more important than usual as they fought over the high ground. __________ Brackets <-(Hyper link) -- Every player post once, referring to the Brackets to identify their opponent if necessary. No particular order is required, but every post should include a general strategy as well as the arms and armor of the fighter. (Strong armor is recommended. Though tournament weapons are blunted, severe hits can cause serious bruising and fractures. Some can even kill). -- For this round, giant weapons must be one-handed. -- Once every player has posted, the event will end with one modmark listing the winners and losers with a commentary for each duel.

Gudrik had decided to wear half plate for the second round giving up a slight amount of protection for an increase in mobility. Once again he choose his longsword and tower shield. At the start of his fight he would shove his shield into the ground and launch the clod removed towards Garlog's head and advanve while his opponent was distracted. If Garlog chose to relinquish the high ground he would use the shield to force the orc to the ground.
Wulfric had not changed his choice of armor or weapons. He planned to force his way up the hill and make the General give ground regardless of if he wished to or not.

Garlog chose a long billhook as his weapon this time. Hopefully the long reach of the weapon would provide him the advantage he needed to keep the blood dancer at a safe distance and make use of the high ground. Gudrik had a reputation as a fast and fierce fighter, so the orc knew his best chance was strong footing and good reach. If it became a melee Garlog was sure to lose.
Carok intended to keep his tried and true tactics. A large shield, longsword and scaled armor would keep him save and help him outlast his opponents with superior strength and power.

General Stae Pjjokhat had opted for heavier armor this time, extending the sheath of tough lamellar scales from his torso to cover his entire body. His helmet was now fitted with a visor: He wouldn't need especially sharp vision to follow the movements of a 14-foot tall giant. As long as Pjjokhat was leaning or moving forward, the extra weight would make him harder for his huge opponent to move by sheer force. Not to mention the extra protection against injury.
As a weapon, the general had selected a Byrnian-style hooked glaive, a weapon the Surv-Akur had eagerly adopted into its arsenal during the reign of Khei the Just. It was more adaptable and harder-hitting than a simple longspear, but with an equally long reach, and the hook gave it extra utility for tripping or disarming opponents. It was just the weapon Pjjokhat would need to counter Wulfric's natural reach and momentum: He could brace against a charge to blunt its power, and then seize the opportunity attack the warrior's legs as if he were a momentarily-stopped horse. Or else, if Thunderfist opted for a more defensive strategy, he could use the weapon's length and weight to great effect in pushing the giant back. The price for these advantages was that he had only a pair of small shields for defense, each strapped to one of his forearms.

Ikegami Naozumi and Ikegami Masateru, two brothers from a powerful clan, both strong warriors, both proud of their skill and fiercely competitive against each other. For this duel they would both wear the same lamellar armor as last time, with the same weapons their katana and Wakizashi. There would be no fancy strategy for this duel as neither of the two cared for it. They would both simply go up the hill and engage the other in pure melee as brother against brother.
--
Ikegami Sayoko was preparing herself for battle, she'd decided to go with lighter armor than her usual standard, speed would be her salvation here and she would get to the top of the hill quicker and take advantage of height to overcome and outlast Carok, his shield and sword would be troublesome but she could play keep away until he tired and allowed openings. Her height of 6'5 would ensure her good reach and speed against Carok and if he charged up the hill after her she would gladly knock him back down in his heavy plate.

The match between the fearsome Blood Dancer and the Firetooth Chief was short, as had been expected. What had not been expected was the final result. Gudrik set off the battle by kicking up dirt and charging up the hill: He was able to break the orc's guard and land a body shot, but not without receiving the full weight of Gorlag's hooked bill against his head. With things up close and personal now, the giant seemed to have victory in his grasp nonetheless, but with astounding alacrity Chief Garlog managed to strike the giant once for every hit he took. First they traded body shots, and then the polearm scraped past Gudrik's shield just enough to bang against the giant's cheek. Against all odds, Chief Garlog Whiteshot of the Firetooth clans won a duel against Thane Gudrik the Blood Dancer, with a score of Gudrik 3 / Garlog 5The day would not spell defeat for every giant, however. Pjjokhat mounted an honorable defense of his hill, standing firm against Wulfric's charge and refusing to let him get a shot without receiving one right back. But when the giant cleverly backed up and baited the human, the Surv-Akur general fell for the bait and was immediately punished with brutal slam to the body that knocked the wind out of him. Pjjokhat, losing his energy, tried to throw Wulfric off with a painful strike to his foot, but the Jotun warrior did not falter. After a few exchanges of parries, Wulfric Thunderfist finished the fight with a downswing right onto the general's head, which fortunately did not injure the man but did send him to the ground. The score stood at Wulfric 5 / Pjjokhat 3Despite his heavier armor Carok was able to swiftly make it to the top of the mound. But after the initial exchange he found himself sharing the summit with Sayoko. After an early head strike by Carok they would exchange thrusts and parries for several minutues. Each contestant probing for weakness and ocationally gaining a body blow. In the end it was Carok who would claim victory, like his first fight it wasn't showy but it was a victory. The final score was Carok 5 / Sayoko 3The fight between the Ikegami was one of the more brutal of the day. Whether it was resentment or simple sibling rivalry was anyone's guess. Once the two warriors met atop the mound they went full tilt with Noazumi missing the mark and taking a shot to the ribs in the first exchange. Then a pair of body blows were exchanged. Then Masateru landed a blow to the head in trade for a body shot. Despite being slightly dazed Naozumi slipped through his brother's guard to land a blow on his shoulder. The final exchange would result in both brothers landing their strikes, to the side of each others heads. The final score was Masateru 6 / Naozumi 5
