Sayoko nodded, she wouldn't expect them to make such a decision right away and completely understood their hesitance to send their daughter so far from home.
"Of course, the offer stands and the Tournament will not end for a while yet so take your time to discuss the situation and I will await whatever decision you make regarding it."
She handed another parchment to the father, it would allow him an audience with her later at the manor when he had made his decision.
"Thank you for giving the request consideration."

"Thank you My Lady," the father said with a bow, taking the parchment like if was the most precious thing in the world.
Mabel gave Sayoko a hug, "I'm sure he will say yes," she whispered excitedly, "I can hardly wait to see your kingdom, Princess. I promise I will work very hard and be the best Samurai in the north, after you of course."
The crowd was interested in talking to Mabel's family now, giving her father advise and telling them what had happened before he arrived on the scene.
Bron managed to take Sayoko's hand and lead her away from the crowd. "Your really think a human will be able to fit in at your kingdom?" he asked her once they were a few yards away.

Sayoko nodded, she knew her people well, it would be strange and perhaps take some getting used to but she was confident in her people to accept Mabel's firm desire to be a Samurai and to do great things.
"I do, I don't deny that there will be challenges to overcome but they are doable and I know Mabel is determined and my people will respect her conviction. Just as they would any human who wished to be involved with my people in any fashion, we respect courage and drive. When you are mortal it is so easy to shy away from things that require conviction due to limited longevity, but it takes great courage to stick with something to the end, no matter the challenges in your way."

"I'm glad your people are so open minded," Bron said, "I think Mabel is very blessed to get this opportunity." He looked up at her. "Here in Elon, we value duty and and conviction, but for many people life is out of their control and all they can do is struggle through the lot they've been given the best they can."
They'd reached the edge of the market square. "Would you like to see more of the city? I could show you the new bridge, or we could head back to the Manner while it's still light out."

Sayoko looked up, there was still plenty of light out but it seemed faded and slowly ebbing away as dusk approached. If they went to the bridge it would be dark by the time they returned, she didn't mind that much the idea of seeing more of the city still appealed to her.
"I think I would like to see this new bridge, see how this city is expanding." she nodded, reaching over to take his hand in hers.

He took hers gladly and they walked together down toward the river and the new Elonese bridge, which was wide and long and yet capable of being drawn up in order to let ships pass on up the river. As the walked, they talked about the tournament and shared stories an opinions, continuing to enjoy each other company, as well as visiting with the many towns people still out celebrating. By the time they returned to the manner the sun had set and the moon was beginning to rise.

The day had been enjoyable, the people were nice and the land was beautiful, she was starting to like the water and the simple lushness of the land, Kegosu had forests and trees along the river but much of the rest was plains and mountainous terrain and so much flora had her feeling relaxed. Maybe that was why she felt so comfortable walking and talking with Bron the whole day, or the way she couldn't stop smiling throughout the day she spent with him. He was nice, a good man, an honorable man even if he claimed otherwise and she wouldn't deny that he had a pleasing appearance.
Maybe that was why when she finally felt the need to sleep and retire to her own quarters she lingered just long enough to give his cheek a kiss, the hair of his beard felt strange against her lips but she didn't mind and with a smile and a wink she departed to her quarters before he could react.

Sayoko exited the hall, holding the door open long enough for the two mentors for Mabel to exit behind her before she walked into the courtyard of the manor, she stretched her muscles a little, having hated sitting for the negotiations and adjusted her yukata, making sure her ponytail was still in place before she looked for Mabel and Bron, the two katana on her obi were heavier than usual but it was easy to compensate and she smiled at the thought of Mabel's excited reaction to her new sword.

Bron was showing Mabel some fighting techniques using some of the blunted weapons from the tournament. The boy from the streets, who'd teaser her, Cecil Hollen was there as well, holding up a blunt mourning-star in both hands.
"This seems like a good way to bash in your own face if you ask me," he was telling Bron, "Even if the points aren't sharp."
"Yes, which is why you probably shouldn't play with it," Bron said.
Mabel's parents were leaning on the rails of the horse area watching the children practice with Bron and sipping tea from mugs that's been provided.
"Sayoko!" Brin greeted with a bright smile when he saw her, "You talked to the Queen?'
Mabel turned and dropped the tourny sword in order to run over and greet the elven princess, "Isn't it wonderful," she said, "The King and Queen want me to go and are sending Cecil as well. He's a dummy, but not all so bad. I'm so excited!"

Sayoko nodded to Bron before smiling at Mabel, her excitement was infectious and she had a feeling that Mabel was about to be even more excited, she hadn't seen her new katana yet and Sayoko anticipated an explosion of energy when she gave it to her.
"It's good that you'll have someone you know in Kegosu with you, and the Queen is sending two mentors with us to mentor you in Elonese history and culture while you're with us." She stepped forward and gripped the hilt of Mabel's katana and pulled it from her obi, bending down so that she could hold the sheathed blade before her.
"Well Mabel, every Samurai needs a weapon, and Quinn has finished yours." she offered the katana, hilt first to Mabel for her to take, Quinn had been kind of enough to add a band so that she could wear it over her back if it didn't fit right on her belt.
She looked up to Bron and smiled, he had been very helpful for this endeavor.

Mabel was speechless with awe and happiness, as she looked down at the new sword. Holding her breath, she carefully reach out and drew it a few inches from the sheathe. It flashes silver in the Elonese sunshine and Mabel gasped. "It's so beautiful! This is the most wonderful day in my life! Thank you so much!"
Mara and Lewis had gathered around them along with Bron, Cecil and Mabel's parents.
"We will never be able to repay you this kindness you have done for her," Mabel's mother said.
"Aed bless you eternally," her father said.
Bron grinned, his smile beaming, as he looked over their heads at Sayoko. "The people in Dovwynn aren't going to forget this soon," he said, "I certainly will remember you for the rest of my life, Ikegami Sayoko, even if I never see you again, which hopefully shall not be the case."
"Yes, Do come back and visit soon," Mabel's father said.

Sayoko chuckled softly at Mabel's reaction and nodded, "I am happy to provide you with such an opportunity Mabel."
She turned to Bron and Mabel's parents and nodded, offering Bron a smile, "Of course, I will bring Mabel back down to Dovwynn in the fall of the next year so she can see you both again and to show her progress. And Bron, I would be happy to visit Dorn in the future, but feel free if you get the time to come North and see me and Mabel."
Try as she might she couldn't quite hide the eager and hopeful tone at the last part, because she did want to see Bron again and she wanted to show him the beauty of her home like he had done for her.

"I know the queen intends to establish trade rout with your country and someone will have to help survey new roads for the rout. Maybe I can get the job," Bron said hopefully, though he knew the queen also had plans for him in Dorn and on the frontier.
"We will await your visit next fall with eager anticipation," Mabel's father said, "I'm sure Mabel will have learned a lot by then."
"Me too," Cecil said, "I'll learn a lot too." He looked hesitantly up at Sayoko, "It will be alright for me to learn how to fight like a samurai too, won't it?"

Sayoko nodded, looking over to Cecil, "Of course, as long as you are determined you'll go far." He and Mabel would be good training partners for each other, and she'd test his resolve on the trip north, she had plans to begin introducing them to the basics when they stopped to set up camp along the way.
She had some bokken that she practiced with and would work perfectly for training them.

Cecil nodded and glanced over at Mabel. He was at least determined to show that he was just as capable as she was.
"How soon will you be leaving?" Mabel's father asked.
