Jarl Tholarg Wolfkin (Monarch) Architect / Warrior (Melee) The young Jarl of the Jotun's. His blond hair and blue eyes are easily forgotten in the face of his staggering 14' of muscle. He has a great love for the works of imperial architecture and wishes to emulate them in his own kingdom.
Thane Gudrik the Blood Dancer (General) Permanent (from Military academy) Brother to Tholerg and commander of his warriors. Short at 11' and dark of hair and demeanor. He is known for a lack of mercy in his battle preferring to kill his prisoners rather than bringing them home in chains.
History:
The Jotun Clans have raided the coasts of the north for generations. Their longships having been a common, if unwelcome sight for all their neighbors. The clans have always had a loose hierarchy amongst their own people with the strongest Thane claiming the position of Jarl. It was Jarl Olf Elfsbane that changed this by decreeing that his son would succeed him without the normal customs of challenge. When he slew all the thanes who opposed him he laid the groundwork for what the Jotuns would become.
With a stable passing of power the jotun never needed to cancel raiding seasons for the contest for Jarldom and with one undisputed ruler they could be directed with greater purpose than ever before. The clans brought in more plunder and prisoners than ever before. This period lasted six generations and is commonly viewed as a golden age.
However with the coming of the empire the golden age was forced to tarnish. After several naval engadgements Jarl Higaf the Kneeler was forced to bend the knee after the empire blockaded the Jotun's island kingdom with enough ships to block the horizon. Knowing his people though mighty would be utterly destroyed by such a force he submitted to imperial rule. Though They officaly have converted to Aed most jotun would only nod to it's rituals while keeping to their own ways. After Higaf's passing he was succeeded by his eldest son Tholarg.
