Even if the Wasteland Orcs had gotten wind of Vizier Ishui Seldu's decree of Common War, it was unlikely that any had expected such a large force to arrive so soon. A colorful panoply of banners and flags fluttered softly in the light breeze, coats of arms of all manner of Jotun families mixed in with a few neater rows Imperial Standards. The attackers were advancing down the gentle slopes of the hills past the edge of Firetooth territory, a particularly fortuitous circumstance for the small battery of cannon General Pjjokhat had brought along.
In contrast to the thousands of giants and their human allies, the orcish force appeared rather meager even if on paper the numbers were not so different. Furthermore, their chances of simply outrunning the Jotun and Pjjokhat's Khaitis knights were slim to none. But the Wastelanders did have a key advantages: They were in friendly territory. Not only did the orcs have superior knowledge of the terrain, but if they were lucky or managed to get word out, reinforcements could reach them. The enemy army, on the other hand, would not be getting any bigger. Only smaller.
ORDER OF BATTLE:
Jotun Clans (vaklu)
LEADER: Thane Gudrik (General) - 25 Bodyguards
-- Stae Pjjokhat (Human) (Surv-Akur General) - 100 Mounted Bodyguards, 10 Horse Artillery
-- 100 Human Marines (1 Galiot Squadron / Gunpowder)
-- 250 Giant Raider Marines (2 Longship Squadrons)
-- 250 Giant Marines (5 Barque Squadrons)
-- 500 Giant Longbowmen (1 unit)
-- 500 Giant Halberdiers (1 unit)
-- 1,000 Giant City Archers (2 units)
-- 1,000 Giant City Roundshiers (2 units)
-- 1,000 Giant City Shock Infantry (2 units)
Total: 4,725 soldiers
Wasteland Orcs (talis)
LEADER: Yontai Furtaker (General) - 50 Bodyguards
-- 1,000 Orc Halberiers (1 unit)
-- 1,000 Orc Pike Levy (1 unit)
-- 1,000 Orc Archer Levy (1 unit)
Total: 3,050 soldiers
Notes
-- Jotun Clans begin with slight high ground advantage, which they will lose if they close in towards the current orcish positions
-- Jotun Clans have absolutely no information on other forces that might be in the vicinity, but the Wasteland Orcs have a general idea (will message talis)
-- Wasteland Orcs may receive reinforcements at any point after the first modmark based on a combination of action and luck
This battle has no set ending point; which moderation mark is final will depend on the course of the battle and outside factors the attackers are unaware of.
