The gold mines of Keles were captured without a fight, but that did not mean the Ikegami Clan would have an easy campaign. Though the forces of Warlord Ashies Mal'Fahar were diminished from the battle in the plains, they were entrenched in their castle like a tick in animal hide. It would take either a serious assault or a protracted siege to dislodge them, unless Lord Naozumi could convince the dwarves to surrender. __________ -- Ikegami Clans choose one of the following - Attack: Thread will proceed as a 2-modmark battle

Masateru considered the options presented to him carefully before making his decision. When he did he began to give quick orders to his men and to his pride they reacted quickly and orderly. All around him the army shifted as they prepared to besiege the manor.
The peasant roundshier set to work on creating makeshift ladders, and bridges for the eventuality of an assault should one be needed. While they did that the lancers were set to patrolling around the manor itself, they would report any attempted enemy movement back to the main host while they prepared for the siege.
The archers would be the mainstay firing upon the defenders whenever they could, they would alter things up occasionally, groups of them firing in the dead of night to disturb the rest of the enemy and make them tired, exhausted meanwhile the melee troops would prepare to hold the siege and assault when ready.

Moderation Mark
Despite their best efforts in repeated skirmishes, the Ikegami besiegers hardly made a dent in the garrison. Though the sporadic skirmish attacks did begin to disrupt the sleep and peace of mind of the defenders, every exchange of fire ended with several dozen elvish grievously wounded and only a handful of dwarves struck. In one particularly bloody pitched skirmish, the Warlord's troops were able to assemble and react much faster than General Masateru had expected, resulting in what the defenders would call a "turkey shoot." The Ikegami archer force, under orders to advance, began taking fire before they could return it but did not retreat, and the detachment was too weakened and disorganized by the time it could start loosing arrows of its own to offer much of a response. That evening, only five-hundred of one-thousand warriors sent against the enemy returned, and no one could confirm if they had even killed a single dwarf. Fortunately for General Masateru, relief was on the way. On the first morning of the third week of the siege, a Surv-Akur herald in full plated mail and a steel war-mask arrived bearing news of an army from New Byrnis almost seven-thousand strong, commanded by none other than the Vizier of the North's eldest son. The army of Ishui Jaou arrived the next afternoon, a proud procession of imperial flags, steel cuirasses covered in scales, and chainmail headdresses hanging from spike-topped helms. At the rear were the grandest arrivals, twenty heavy siege cannons and twenty mortars. As sappers dug trenches and guns were fixed in position, the proud general introduced himself to his honored Ikegami counterpart. General Jaou then invited him to join in a little expedition: Together with their guard-retainers, they would approach the castle under the flag of parlay and discuss terms with the Warlord. __________ RESULTS AND CASUALTIES Ikegami Clans make a series of skirmishes that are much more costly to them than their enemies, but now relief has arrived from the Empire!
Approximate Casualties -- 100 Longbowmen -- 300 City Archers -- 400 Peasant Archers Thon Origm shrugs off Ikegami skirmish attacks with hardly a scratch, benefiting from far superior positioning and cover...but the Surv-Akur's arrival may complicate things!
Approximate Casualties -- 25 Longbowmen The Grand Survaek Empire arrives with a large army and heavy artillery; Surv-Akur General Ishui Jaou now joins General Ikegami Masateru to demand the rebels' surrender!
Forces: LEADER: Ishui Jaou (Surv-Akur General) - 100 mounted bodyguards and 10 horse artillery -- 6,000 Survaekom Square Infantry and 120 infantry guns (6 units) -- 20 siege guns and 200 crew (2 units) -- 20 mortars and 200 crew (2 units) Grand Survaek Empire to Negotiate.

Negotiations Fail
General Ishui Jaou's guards galloped in to shield him, but an arrow slid past their shields, between two armor plates, and into his elbow with a contented thunk and a cry of pain. Thankfully, he was able to ride away without further injury, and General Masateru made it back to his ranks unharmed. Necessarily, many guards had to sacrifice themselves for both generals. A few minutes later, the Survaekom response came as expected: the thunderous boom of forty great guns, the deafening cracks of mortar shells bursting open with shrapnel and flaming lime, and finally hundreds of deep pops from Surv-Akur 3-pound horse artillery and 2-pound infantry guns. The besiegers' ranks were shrouded in billowing white smoke, and thousands squinted to see what marks they would leave on the insolent heathens.

The thunderous roar of the siege guns shook the very ground around them as they vomited forth their deadly payloads, soon followed by the encore of the hundreds of smaller guns. The heavy cloud of smoke that was coughed from the barrels of the mighty guns carried across the battlefield, obscuring the firing guns even before their shells landed on the walls of the stronghold, shattering them in an instant. Then the second volley began to fall.
By the time the third volley was being loaded into the barrels of their fieldguns the dwarf resistance began to falter and by the fourth they were willing to surrender. All but the calls of the Warlord himself kept them from outright breaking. Until one final volley from the guns fell on the fortress. By then those that survived took their previous lord captive and raised the white flag of surrender.
RESULTS AND CASUALTIES
Ikegami Clans remain back as their newly arrived Survaek allies blast away at the Manor. Approximate Casualties -- N/A
Thon Origm suffers immense casualties and surrenders to the Survaek-Ikegami Clan forces, capturing and offering up the Warlord Ashies Mal'Fahar. Approximate Casualties -- 650 Professional Light Infantry (1 Unit) -- 780 Professional Longbowmen (1 Unit) -- 520 City Pike (1 Unit) -- 125 Warriors
The Grand Survaek Empire's field guns devastate the defenses and win the day, the range of it's guns making it impossible for the Dwarves to truly respond. Approximate Casualties -- N/A
NOTES -- The Warlord, Ashies Mal'Fahar, is now in the custody of Survaek-Ikegami forces. -- The walls of Thon Origm have been destroyed and will need to be rebuilt for full price by new occupiers.
