The raiders came at night, silent and swift as shadows. Or maybe it was just that all the goblins of Vole-pee-dough were too busy celebrating the Harvest Festival (the Summer Night Harvest Festival, of course: they had already finished the Summer Day Harvest Festival, and the Harvest Harvest Festivals wouldn't be for another few months). Regardless, by the time they heard the disturbingly heavy footsteps pounding, the giants were already upon them from every direction with spear-sized arrows nocked onto their longbows.
"Surrender or die!" commanded a booming voice from a metal-encased figure.
The village was big but more or less surrounded, and the militia had no time to rally. The Village Elders tried their luck by inviting the giantfolk to go ahead and join the festival, but they didn't seem interested in sharing. They were here to take.
Gold, valuables, and grain stores were piled up before the monstrous foreigners, whose faces were hard to see so high above the little goblin torches. Then the giants made their own piles with handfuls of Vole-pee-dough residents, stacking them up until a more scholarly-looking giant counted them up to one-thousand.
Then, as quickly as they had arrived, the giants were off with bellows of laughter echoing through the countryside. Only then could the goblins let what had just happened sink in and let the mourning begin.
__________
-- The village of Vole-Pee-Dough (Southeastern village) is LOOTED by giants!
-- Village generates no tax and no food slots and can levy only 1 unit until the beginning of Turn 8 (i.e. for 2 Turns)
