The journey from Kalmar to Shambala was a relatively easy one. The party sailed down the River Narama, out past the bounds of Kalmari territory, and into the west. They kept ailing on what in this part of the world was known as the long water, until they hit the edge of Shambalan lands. Then, they disembarked and waited for someone to come across them. It was a relatively busy waterway, and it was likely that t troop of soldiers or customs officials would be along shortly to greet the new arrivals.
Despite the age of Shambala, Kalmar had never had a great deal of contact with them. The distances involved were one factor, but another was the sheer strangeness of their religion. A religion that demands either acts of good or evil was one thing. But one that required both was nonsensical to Kalmar. As far as the Search was concerned, helping people was only right and proper. But the perception of balance did have a strange allure to it, and Kalmar was always interesting in learning more about how others viewed the world, in order to try and learn more of God. This was one of the reasons that Antal Kalmar himself had ordered the Warriors and Artisans to send a party to open a line of communication with the Dham. Another reason was that with the entrance of the East into the west through the Great Wastes, and over the ocean, the long stable Status Quo of the land was changing.
Already the Dydorist cults that littler the countryside were becoming more active, as even more "Devil Races" moved into the west. The major Dydorist powers to the north would likely follow soon after. And so Antal sought to become closer to less threatening nations. And Shamballa was on that list. Now, all the parties leader, a human by the name of Jasmit Kirpal had to do was convince the Dham that it was a good idea. A job that certainly had her work cut out for her.
