"Form ranks and advance!"
The call came out with bellowing voice before being echoed by Vaekirate Guard Captains as their forces quickly stepped into formation with halberds in front and on the sides and muskets in the center. The Titanhand's plan was simple: As the Firetooth infantry spread into the dock district to combat the wastelander troops attacking his own troops would sally forth directly from the southern gates to engage the Wastelander pikemen at range, using their muskets to cut down the tight ranks of the pikemen whilst Haakon and his Tovenaar-Akur annihilated them at range with the vengeance of Aed projected from their fists in righteous indignation.
With the wasteland pikes destroyed the bulk of the army would march on the unengaged orcish forces to the south west of the gate with Guardsmen serving as a central block with Haakon filling up the exact middle, his retinue behind the lines continuing the constant barrage while he smites the foes of Aed with his hands named for such violence he was about to commit. Haakon's main targets were to be Hulgark the Fox with his catapults and the Shaman (28) holding behind the enemy lines, him and his Tovenaar doing their duty to kill the fool and destroy his retinue of warlocks. Until they could reach him, however, the rest of the enemy lines would have hell to pay. The flanks would be taken up by the mob of Zealots and unleashed to wrap up the enemy in a very loose pincer movement while the Vaekirate halberds continued to fire shot into the enemy lines and engage with halberds and swords. The last of the army, the mounted Guardsmen, would commit to an attack against the Shaman (29) with orders to kill the apostate before he could attempt to sway the battle with his misused gifts.
Across the battlefield in the Jotun ranks Lagertha and her cavalry remained behind the lines, the Tovenaar-Akur with her engaging the forces attacking the Jotun with their own gifts from Aed, directing their magical artillery towards the rear lines of the wastelanders to confuse and frighten them.

Port District
With Firetooth pouring out of the gates just behind them, the wing of Wastelander cavalry had only one way to go: North. Enemy troops were sallying there too, but they would have to cover much more distance to cut the cavalry off. Those soldiers who still had flammable material to discharge onto city buildings did so as quickly as possible, and the mass of warg riders galloped North at full speed. They only stopped when absolutely necessary, when there were barriers they could not circumvent that needed to be removed.
The light cavalry had no interest in engaging the Firetooth in an urban battlefield. Whatever it took, they were determined to get out of here. Of course, the terrain did have at least one advantage: The wastelanders were free to fire their arrows over the rooftops, whereas the Firetooth would need to get very close before they could have a clear line of fire with their muskets. So they peppered their foes to the Northeast with arrows as much as possible in their retreat, hoping to slow them down enough to make it out.
_
East Field
When Yontai Furtaker spotted the human cavalry massing, his reaction was quick and decisive. "Captain! For the love of Kor'Nezagh, tell the shamans and archers on the right flank to change their marks and hit the cavalry!" As the order was carried out, directing streams of arrows and thunderbolts away from the giants and towards the wave of imperials, Furtaker took some initiative of his own.
"Shield militia on me! Defend da right flank!" He personally lead the action, rallying three-thousand roundshiers to form a shield-wall facing the impending cavalry onslaught. The general was beginning to accept that he would probably die today, and he wanted to be remembered for something besides his defeat and capture by the Blood Dancer. If he could help it, the Furtaker clan would have a glorious tale of battle to its name.
Further North, effectively outside Furtaker's range of communication, the infantry continued with the last orders they had received. Archers poured volley after volley into the Jotun North flank, and the block of pikes and swords advanced with all haste to hit the giants while they were disorganized. These troops, unlike their commander, believed they could win. The battle was too loud and they were too far away to register the immense cavalry charge coming their way.
_
South Field
Seeing the gates opening before them, the detachment of pikes guarding against a sally advanced with spearheads pointing forward in a wall. The enemy had superior numbers, but the wastelanders had a bottleneck where they could effectively fight the Firetooth on even terms. And, ironically, their position right under the palisades gave them excellent cover against the enemy cannon. The supporting archers continued to fire in support, suppressing the musketeers on the wall to minimize the impact of their fire. They would certainly lose the engagement eventually, but they had every advantage possible to help hold off their foes for a very long time.
Hulgark's main army, on the other hand, had more of a dilemma. Now that the Ikegami had decided to charge, Hulgark needed to choose where to concentrate his forces. He couldn't hope to break both armies, but if he could break one his troops would have a path of retreat. With Jodsar's forces already engaged, Hulgark liked his chances against the Cerdigonians.
The High Chief turned to one of his runners. "Front line infantry will advance, and the archers and catapults will keep supporting them. Everyone else on me."
In accordance with their supreme commander's orders, five-thousand infantry began their attack. Pike squares widened into rectangles to fill the front ranks, backed up by roundshiers on the rear and flanks. The only exceptions were the shock troops massed on the right flank. They would handle their section on their own with their own, less sophisticated methods.
"FORWAAAAAAARD!" Thousands of pikes swung down until they were nearly parallel to the ground, presenting a nasty wall of spikes to whoever faced them. Then the march began. In what some outsiders would consider an uncharacteristic move for the wastelanders, the pike-line moved at a measured pace that prioritized cohesion over speed. Their job wasn't necessarily to rout the enemy with a powerful smash, but rather to hold them off. To do this, their spear-wall would have to stay level and their ranks would have to stay in tight order. They would be helped by the volleys of arrows and catapult-stones flying over their heads.
Of course, the thousand man-hackers on the right flank would use a different approach: As the enemy line drew near, they accelerated from quick-step to a full charge to meet their elven roundshier counterparts. They might die before the pikes did, but they would have glory to their names.
Hulgark's own force, a mix of pikes and shield militia and man-hackers accompanied by shamans, would be using this style of attack in full. Thousands of troops sprinted to meet the Commonwealth lancers and tear them off their horses -or just kill the horses and let the pitiful riders writhe in pain from broken legs. During the run, the shaman-folk readied their spells with incantations, and then, right before the charge connected, they loosed all the thunder they could store at the Commonwealth knights specifically. This was for two reasons: to save the infantry from dealing with too many elite warriors, and because the elves and horses were easiest to fry when they were in full metal armor.
__________
-- Light cavalry to the Northwest press North with all haste while suppressing the sallying Firetooth with arrows.
-- Yontai Furtaker (27) rallies the three nearby Roundshier units for a last stand against the incoming Survaekom cavalry.
-- Just South of Furtaker, shamans (29) and archers (2 units) direct all their fire against the Survaekom cavalry.
-- The troops North of Furtaker's sphere (2 pike, 1 roundshier, 3 archer) continue to rush to engage the giants, and the engaged troops keep fighting.
-- Hulgark's front line (2 pike, 2 roundshier, 1 shock) advance in good order to meet the Ikegami charge. They are supported by the catapults and archers (3 units).
-- Hulgark the Fox (24) personally leads the rest of his unengaged units (shamans, 3 shock, 3 roundshier, 1 pike) in a charge against the Commonwealth cavalry. At close range, shamans (29) target the knights specifically.

The hours dragged on as the sun passed it's zenith and the armies battered each other into submission. The only front to see little change thus far was where the Ikegami clashed. The orcs had met them and matched them steel to steel and were agumented by the lightning flowing from the shaman that sat behind their lines. The Commonwealth lines were played host to the some of the fiercest fighting. The Ramparts of the dead were making it dificult for the orcish cavalry to advance in any semblance of good order. The driving force behind their continued push was Jodsar the swift. His personal guard had driven deep into. it seemed he would force an opening until King Aeron himself checked his advance. The maimed king slew the warlord in single combat and in drove his men to re-close their lines. The were-wolves of the longfangs had little interest in the changes on the battle field and concentrated on forcing their way deeper into the imperial lines. Barely noticing the loss of a great number of their follows to the skirmishing jezails. The charge of General Pjjokhat was everything one would expect from a commander known for his impetuousness. He paid no mind to the rain of arrows and magical fire that met his charge. Driving on regardless of the loss of a goodly number of his cavalry. When his men made contact they obliterated a unit of archers before they were checked by the shieldwall of orcish roundshiers sent by Furtaker. The Battle at the jotun lines shifted when Wulric Thunderfist met Fulgram Wildhammer in single combat and crushed the orcish champion. Between the pressure of the advancing jotun greatswords combined with the loss of their commander caused the light infantry to break. The most important ramification of the breakthrough was the Blooddancer catching Yontai Furtaker once more, but instead of capturing him as he had in the wastes he separated the comander's head from his shoulders. When Titanhand took the field along with the warriors of the faith they once more shifted the fortunes of the orcish army deeper towards despair. The mounted guard wasted no time in charging into the throng of Acolytes that surrounded the shaman, killing all without hesitation or pity. The zealots had been given orders but once they took the field they simply charged the nearest orcish units they could see. In the dock district flames were spreading as the firetooth attempted to sally. Their progress was slow and cautious. The orcish cavalry was able to continue, though slowed by the distractions and barricades some of them had made the bridge and fled the battlefield. The Last Hour Belongs to the Cavalry
"CHAAARGE!"
Horns sounded, hooves galloped, Imperial Standards fluttered in the wind. General Ishui Jaou was committing himself and his Khaitis Knights to the fray, having noticed the dangerous gap in the Surv-Akur line ahead. They had discharged their pistols, and now their lances and shields were ready and braced for impact. Twenty meters, fifteen meters, ten meters...every second felt like an hour for Ishui Jaou as he pointed his gaze and his spearhead towards one of the demon wolves. Five meters...the General tightened his grip in grim anticipation.
CRACK. CRUNCH. SQUELCH. Flesh tore asunder, bones shattered, and lances broke as the mass of wood and steel met the mass of hide and claw. After the initial impact, which rendered most of the lances useless even if they didn't break, drill and battle-instinct moved the soldiers' hands for them. Lances dropped, and handweapons -sabers, axes, maces, hammers- were drawn before they hit the ground. The thrust halted and the hacking began. Now the melee would be like a grindstone: A battle of unbreachable wall against unstoppable force where riders encased in armor thicker and stronger than anything else the Surv-Akur fielded pushed against beasts of sheer power unlike anything the Survaekom had seen before.
In the meantime, the jezails on the right flank were joined by more and more musketeers as they cleared their side of the field of the demon pests. Even better, some of the infantry on the main line had the room to retake infantry guns, adding particularly potent firepower to the mix. From their angle, it seemed only a matter of time -and not even a very long one at that- before all the wolves lay slain by enfilading fire.
To the West, the Yvorom cavalry entered a risky but potentially advantageous situation. The orcish pike block was uncomfortably close, but this also meant the riders could pour arrows into the enemy mass from nearly point-blank range. At least for the moment, they didn't need to worry too much about their wargs. However fierce their barks and snarls, the creatures refused to stay closer than a meter or two from the spear wall, like any mount with eyes and a sense of self-preservation. As long as the pikes didn't get much momentum, which the cavalry hoped their weight of fire could ensure, then both wargs and riders could stay reasonably safe. And with the rest of the battle turning in the allies' favor, it wouldn't be long before the orcs were being pressed on two sides.
To the East, General Pjjokhat pressed further and further into the enemy ranks with as big a trail of broken bodies as he could leave, and he did not cease to egg his Surv-Akur subordinates to keep up.
"COME ON YOU PACK OF QUAIL CHICKS! SHOW THE WASTE-SCUM WHAT SURVAEKOM ARE MADE OF! ADVAAAAANCE!"
It helped both Pjjokhat and his Yvorom that he wasn't alone in spearheading the push: He was flanked by the Heirs of Estryn and the retinue of King Azlyn, warriors in his same league of renown. Somewhere in the back of his mind Stae hoped an orc or two would turn to Aed before dying, since he had already decided that he wouldn't be showing any mercy or taking any prisoners. Today, his Duty was a messy one.
__________
-- Ishui Jaou (Surv-Akur General) charged into the gap made by the Longfangs.
-- Musketeers and infantry guns from the unengaged section of the Survaekom Square line join with the jezail skirmishers in attacking the Longfangs' flank.
-- Western Yvorom keep firing, trusting their mounts to keep some minimal distance from the pikes.
-- Eastern cavalry wave keeps pushing forward.

The Ikegami front was in full swing, the melee line was unchanging as Ikegami troops pressed their attack on the Wastelanders, trying to break their front lines, On the left flank of the fight the roundshier attempted to maneuver around the main line and flank the Orcish shock troops in an attempt to break their lines, the remaining roundshier pressed the attack to aid Gorfang and his mercenaries while Captain Trell and her horse archers continued pressing fire on the Shaman and archers surrounding them, after a moment the longbow did likewise, thousands of arrows sailing at the Shaman and his acolytes.
Ikegami Yukimura and Sayoko continued fighting, if a bit more carefully than before, taking a more defensive stance to let themselves catch their breath as the fighting on their fronts continued.
---
Ikegami melee line presses forward against the orcs.
1 unit of city roundshier attempts to flank the orcish shock and overwhelm them
1 unit of city roundshier support Gorfang and his men
Captain Trell, the horse archers and remaining longbow and peasant archers take aim at the Shaman and surrounding archers in an attempt to suppress their magic.

AN arrow passed by Gudrik as he found himself and the greatswords that fought alongside himself and his warriors. He could see the archers to the north hammering his lines. To the south he could see the Imperial cavalry clashing with a mass of wastelander troops, as well as the Vaekirate mounted guard poised to strike at the orcish rear. It made the decision easier. He was closer to the archers and he was sure that Stae would be fine, besides his troops had the numbers in the south and would move to aid the imperials as soon as they mopped up the pike and shock troops they were fighting.
"Lets kill the bow wielding cravens!" A ragged cheer came from his troops. They were tired but they were his. It was also well known that bowmen rarely stood their ground when charged. The prospect of an easy victory appalled to them.
On the Northern battle line another was having similar thoughts. Hudran's jaw and pride still stung from his loss to the Aed lover. His warriors were on the eastern most section and as such were not engaged. he could see the archers raining arrows on his men. He would show those bastards. He'd break the orcs and drive them off, proving he was not simply 'Word-sayer'.

'' HALFMAN! '' The roar of the foul Orc cut through the din of battle and caused King Aeron to glance up as the biggest Warg that he had ever seen tore through his bodguard. With one snap of its jaws, the creature lunged towards the King. It's whooping bellowing rider meeting the King in single combat. Aeron's blood was up, rage pumping through his veins as he met Jodsar blow for blow, the audacity of his filthy creature to call him by that name! The fatigue that was threatening to numb his arm vanished, his saber raining blows down upon the Orc chieftian until the War Chief's blade snapped. With a snarl, Aeron brought his blade down, severing the beasts head from his shoulders while his bodyguard pushed his horsemen back.
Aeron slumped in the saddle, panting heavily as one of his bodyguards reached downwards to collect the slain warlord's head. '' Put it on a spear, show the bastards we fight that their master is dead! '' With a slap of wet meat, Jodsar's head was put on a spear as the bloodied heavy infantry began reforming their lines, tired troops pushing forward to replace the fallen men.
'' MY LIEGE! LOOK! '' Exhausted eyes went towards the horizon as thousands of Orc's came crashing towards the Cerdigonian lines. Aeron's lip curled in a snarl, no it could not end like this! Not here! He would not be defeated!
His cry of defiance was answered by the gates of Thundercrown opening and thousands of Vaekirate troops swarming from the gate to crash into the Orc's from behind.
'' Push forward! '' Aeron croaked, his voice hoarse from shouting. Lead by Jodsar's bloody head acting as a standard, the heavy infantry pushed forward over the mounds of corpses. Meanwhile, archers sent arrows into the enemy cavalry, while the horse archers moved towards the right flank to shower the enemy with arrows. The knights continued to assail Hulgark's forces, while the zealots tore into them.
SUMMARY: -- Knights (21) attack the Orc formations from the rear, in coordination with the zealots. -- Commonwealth forces continue to put pressure on the Orc cavalry in the pocket. -- Horse Archers (17) move up on the right flank to continue firing freely into the Orc cavalry without fear of hitting their own troops.

"Secure the docks!" Garlog sent a message to the troops already sallied. They had no need to chase the already-beaten cavalry. Much more important was putting out the fires and killing any stragglers.
But he himself assembled at the southern gate. The battle was almost over, and there's no way Garlog Whiteshot, Chieftian of the Firetooth, was going to be caught inside the walls while everyone else earned glory. As the guns fired overhead he rallied all the melee troops in the keep and lead them charging out of the gate to relieve the commonwealth's lines and strike the wastelanders from behind. His troops were fresh and eager for a battle - a far cry from the tired and exhausted wastelanders.

"Keep fighting lads!"
Haakon swung out with his fist, smashing some poor wastelander bastard apart with a blast of light from his namesake; blood, bone, and organs splattering the orcs nearby as the immense whirlwind of blood and violence trod through them with ease. A flash of light not of his own designs rose Haakon's head to hunt for the creator, immediately taking note of the apostate mage hurling barbaric spells the youngest of Tovenaar mastered years before they even received such a title. It was his duty, to Aed and Vaekir, to destroy the savage without any mercy.
"Captain! Form the Guard into formation! We're moving against the enemy! Quick march!"
-- Haakon and the Vaekirate Guard move to engage the last surviving Shaman (28) before charging into the rear of the orcs to their southwest. -- Mounted Guardsman rear charge forces engaging cavalry to their southeast. -- Cavalry inside are sent to aid with mopping up enemy forces in the dock district. -- Lagertha to continue her bombardment of enemy lines.

In the northern section of the battlefield, with no commander to lead the Wastelander forces, the orcs' battle-lines broke into a collection of skirmishes. The roundshiers facing the Imperial cavalry charge struggled to keep their shieldwall together while their supporting archers tried to give as good as they got in their harrowing exchange of fire with bow-equipped Yvorom. Further North, as the melee line began to crumble, archers took advantage of their opportune moment to pour in close-range fire while their comrades in the melee could still cover them. It helped that the archer divisions were staggered: If one had to run from a charge like the one the Blood Dancer was preparing, another would rain arrows upon the chargers to slow them down and thin them out.
On the Southern Front, the battle was now pitched...and Hulgark didn't like where it was going. Enemy regiments were approaching his forces from every side, and he had no unengaged banners to meet them with. Only one shaman remained alive, supported by thousands of archers but under threat by a quickly-advancing mass of human-scum infantry whom they had turned to face. The orc-priest and his acolytes desperately released incantations to move the winds against the enemy, slowing them and strengthening the force of their comrades' arrows.
There were no reserves to bring in...except Hulgark the Fox himself and his personal retainers. The question of where to commit flooded his mind: The nearby Commonwealth knights and their elven leader were the closest danger, but the line facing the Ikegami and the archers in the rear could use his help too. What decided it was a flash of light he saw from an exceptionally tall figure far ahead. A giant. A gods-damned shaman giant.
Of course, Hulgark could have tried to retreat, but what would his title mean then? Even the sly Fox had honor to defend. Escaping would save him from a death sentence here, only to condemn his entire clan to a death sentence back home. No, if he had to die, he would die fighting an enemy champion, and that mage was the one he would fight.
Under cover of his infantry, the Grand Chief of the Wastelands and his guards rode hard around the nearby masses of human rabble, and then through the gap between two enemy divisions, and finally to confront the giant. Lances swung down, helmets closed, and wargs and riders prepared for impact.
__________
-- In the North, archers take advantage of support from the melee infantry to ravage the Jotun lines with close-range archery. The two pairs of archer units will each fight as so: If one unit is threatened and must run, the other will use the opportunity to shoot the chasers, hopefully covering their friends' retreat and damaging their foes.
-- Shaman and nearby archers (3 units) turn and fire on the advancing Vaekirate Guard. Shaman unit uses power to direct wind against the enemy, in order to (1) slow the enemy down and (2) strengthen the archers' fire.
-- Hulgark the Fox, with a clear path to Haakon Titanhand through his infantry, rushes to attack the giant.

Hulgark's assault on Haakon Titanhand would prove to be his last mistake. His initial charge was brought to a crashing halt as a bolt of energy from the Titanhand killed his mount is a broiling flash. He would feel his ribcage shatter from a blow as he came to gripps with his foe. Even with a mortal wound he rallied and delivered a mighty blow to the giant that would leave his arm in a sling for monthes even with magical healing.
All around the battlefield the horde faired poorly as their numbers dwindled and the allies were able to support each other but when the news Hulgark had been slain reached the troops fighting the Ikegami their morale shattered turning the pitched fight into a route. This dominoed across the battlefield until every orc was either dead or in flight with nowhere to go. The only sections unaffected were the orcs in the northeastern side of the field and the longfangs. While a number of archers would flee from the north the Werewolves fought to the end. Only when they were completely engulfed did the begin to fall in the speed the imperials had hoped for.
The Fires in the docks were contained, after a great deal of effort as well as a number of lives lost. In the end only one dock section and the goods warehouses near it were destroyed along with hundreds of homes.
